Daily vs non-daily 911's

Almost a year with my C4S, over 11k miles.
Porsche 19"wheels/ContiWinterContact for the winter will come off this Wednesday.
DailyDriver but retired so if I don't want to go, I don't.
Two SnowXross events at Road America as well summer RA events.
When it's really miserable in the winter, I found that I much prefer the seat of one of our XC70's. Better visibility and the Traction System is not able to overpower the car.
But overall on the Interstate in most conditions, I vastly prefer the C4S for it's technology.-Richard

Daily my 991.2 C4S. Just turned 5,500 miles and have had it for 55 weeks. Great every day and enjoy it through the winters with winter wheels/tires. Kids love the back seat. Super versatile.

I hear ya, had a 997 C4s that was a garage queen also and regret not driving the cr@p out of that when I sold it - you'd think I'd of learnt. Trying to negate the high mileage resale hit but that will only benefit the next user...

I love to hear/see this. I could never buy an RS and let it sit. Glad to hear you're enjoying it. Use it in the best of health.

In an earlier post, you said you got it at a good price due to its relatively high miles....so it seems like you already benefitted financially from the prior owners high usage. I'm sure the excess depreciation he took with high miles in the early years will be far more than any depreciation you will take going forward. I say drive the thing and enjoy it.

In your situation totally. 2000 miles is nothing. Actually, you might want to find some regular longer drives to take so you don't run your battery down!
I have a 2016 GTS that I could easily daily if I wanted to. It is very comfortable and usable and is modern enough to have all the toys that you'd get with a brand new car. The best feature is the ability to open the exhaust valves and instantly bring huge silly grins to yourself and anybody within earshot. Its currently on the narrow end of a 40-60 timeshare with my 2015 M4 which is a slightly better commuter car for my situation - ~7500 mainly highway miles a year, occasional bad traffic. I expect this will continue when I get rid of the M4 for something a little more practical (considering next gen E63 AMG/M5). I intend to keep my GTS for a long time.

Daily drive mine and running it into the ground. Realllllllly long commute so putting almost exactly 25K a year on it. Next week it will roll over 50K miles. I couldn't see my commute in anything but this or my R8 weaving through all the idiots for an hour each way. Great visibility and nimble.

Daily driver, mostly commuting 5 miles each way. Not much chance for spirited driving, but it makes me happy to be behind the wheel of this great car.
I have a Ram 1500 that I drive on weekends, when I need to haul kids and stuff. The 991 gets driven plenty on weekends, but it's not a weekend warrior or garage queen.

I'm loving all the posts.especially the ski rack guy and the recent daily non daily post guy! Thanks for making this thread interesting.
I'm scheduled to have my car delivered on Sunday. Pics will be on new thread. I can't wait to share pics of my CPO'd 991.2 C4S!

Daily drove my 991.1S for 2 years. Loved it. Perfect daily driver if you don't need to put adults in the back seats. When I got a rental or loaner I couldn't wait to get back in the Carrera. Just traded in for a GT3. Miss the creature comforts of the S but am having a lot of fun.

I'm about to take delivery of a CPO'd 991.2 C4S. I'm so very stoked. It'll be my first Porsche. I'm coming from a 2010 E90 M3.
My my question is how many are using there vehicles as dailies? I plan on making mine, although my annual commuter mileage is ~2000. If these are everyday sports cars, why not make them such. These aren't collectibles like the GT R.
