Default Thoughts on ESCORT MAX CI 360

Anyone considering the ESCORT MAX CI 360? Complete Radar and Laser detection -- $3,500 + Installation. It was just released, and looks good on paper. Considering having it installed on my 991.2 Turbo. Here's the link: https://www.escortradar.com/maxci360/

I think it looks great on paper. Would like to see it tested before I stake my driving license on it.

Given the lack of professionalism I have experienced with Antilaser's US distributor I think it would be great to switch to a reputable and established player like Escort.

What exactly do you plan on doing on public roads that you need a constant knowledge of where law enforcement is?

I get a quick pull from time to time, but last time I had a radar detector was when I was 19.

There are certainly better places to be exercising cars of this stature.

Love my 360 max. I'd be hesitant on the jammers until it's verified they work against "Dragon Eye"

IMO, radar detectors are essential, especially on long trips, and with a high profile car. I've had a Valentine 1 for many years -- had it updated several times, and remain ticket free for > 30 years. I prefer not to take chances. You may contain your speed to 65MPH, I can't do that.

I tend to contain my speed to what's safe- if everyone is moving around 80-85, then I tend to flow with that (and usually 10-15% above).

Doing triple digits on public roads is just reckless.

Each to their own though I suppose.

If I lived somewhere where I could go 95 mph, I wouldn't need a radar detector either.

Most people with detectors aren't doing a 100 mph. In fact, most are driving slower than what you posted. Going the speed limit (60 mph) on the highway is painful and in WA state, it's just a way for the state to make revenue.

In Seattle, there's always a Prius doing 62 in the left lane.

The purpose of this thread is to discuss the Escort Max CI 360's worthiness, as compared to other products, and is geared to those who are interested in this functionality. No one is suggesting we drive at triple digits on public roadways, except Mr. Bolteon -- who contends that 80-85 + 10-15% is just fine -- traffic flow permitting, and if he truly believes that, he needs this product more than I do. If you are anti radar protection, this is not the thread for you.

Why buy a 911 if you never hit triple digit speeds. It's not like you have to bury your right foot for several minutes to get there.

The vast part of the country West of the Mississippi and East of the Left Coast is full of places that are remarkably empty of traffic, people, and law enforcement. It's a crime that the speed limit isn't in triple digits out there.

And keep in mind, these cars were developed in a country where about a third of the autobahn remains unrestricted. 911s exceed 150--mph not kph--in Germany with regularity.

Yes, put money down in Jan with my installer. I had initially planned to go with a 9500i as I've had these integrated in past cars and loved them.

Eager to see some full reviews/testing, but I'm sure it'll be a big step up from the prior systems as it's been ages since a hardware update.

Just windshield mounted. Using the apps on my phone for the Escort and the ALP jammers. (Which work great. Jammed at 121) sorry bolteon.

I would buy a radar detector but it seems like the only good laser jammer, detector is the alp
otherwise it would be a waste

I was told by my installer that it has been tested against the dragon eye and was successful. He hasn't gotten one in yet. The price is good as compared to some in the past

The 360 is an improvement but not quite fully baked ... arrows are not responsive (change well after you pass the source), still prone to falsing on K-band, occasionally forgets the GPS lock abruptly and will blast at you with a full alert. Actually, in my Macan S, it seems to sometimes pick up the blind spot monitoring or parking sensors on startup and will go nuts until I unplug it and plug it back in. I am referring to the windshield unit.

Would definltely go with the ALP jammers, they seem to be the most responsive at updates. Not sure if BEL is going to incorporate the arrows but they don't work all that well to begin with.

Not impressed with the latest V1 either, just tried it. I wouldn't want to spend big money installing the Escort as it is now, better to go with the windshield detector and be out a few hundred if they make it better in the future. Once you put it in, I think you're stuck with the current iteration. YMMV
