That looks great. Just received mine in the mail..

Can someone point me to a DIY video or something similar? I am not very facile with this stuff and dont want to scuff up my interior.

The "hardest" part is taking off the boot from the console. Just put a pry tool between the boot and console on the side and near the top. That will pop up the front part of the boot and you can easily disconnect the rest of the boot. Then follow the instructions.

Thanks for the help guys. I have tried to wedge a pry tool in between the boot and the console trim piece but I am having difficulty as I am afraid to scratch the alcantara on the boot or the trim piece. There does not appear to be any room to get the plastic trim piece through. Am I just being a wooz and do I need to be more aggressive? Should I remove the trim piece first?

Default I used a hard plastic spatula ...

it was narrower than the trim piece. I got a good bite with spatula and the trim piece popped up fairly easy.

Yes I finally did get it off.

To my surprise, the top left tab was already broken (not by me). To compound matters, when I took the **** off the boot I also found the 3 blacks tabs were missing and the **** was loosely connected to the boot with SUPER GLUE!!

Now I don't like placing blame when im not 100% sure, but these breaks (and 'fixes') must've been caused by the DEALER! i bought my car new off the lot with a little over 100 miles. The only work thats been done to my car aside from the 1 and 2 year maintenance was installing the gt4 ssk which was done at the same dealer. Needless to say, I am appalled and upset. Fortunately, I do not need the old **** anymore as the new one is installed. Still considering what to do about that situation, but anyways pics of the new **** are below

Looks nice!

If they put in the SSK, then they had to be the ones who broke the ****/boot. I would ask them to buy me a new boot.

Another instance of the dealership doing the wrong thing - broke tabs and glued boot back on instead of replacing what they broke. Raise hell from them and get a new free boot.

Installed my aluminum/red today, love it!
No problem removing the stock ****, no previous ham-handed repairs, but the "friction fit" was very difficult to break loose.
Install was challenging to align shift pattern and height, but all worked out ok. Twenty minutes estimate for install is optimistic, but the "installer" may have something to do with that! 😬
Very pleased with the look and feel.
