PCM Rebooting/Map Not Loading
#16
Same here in Portugal (Europe)
Will check again.. but think that my version is a 4.74.
Tomorrow visit to the dealer.
Carrera GTS 2015 (10000km)... as new...
Are the PCM unit all with Hard drive or some with "dvd"?
Will leave my feedback later
Thank you.

The PCM in my 2015 GTS started doing the reboot loop a couple of days ago, here are a couple of videos:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=197...6ScLCGsIpugVw9
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1am...ylikeorZOU6F8W
I contacted my dealership (sonnen), they said that there is an known issue with the PCM units, and Porsche are simply
replacing them when this occurs, when a video of the behavior is provided by the customer/dealer ... YMMV
Not sure if you can hear it on one of the videos but you can hear an audible 'click' from the PCM as it cycles, I suspect its either a relay or
the internal disk drive...

My unit only started doing it a couple of days ago - seems pretty random, sometimes it works normally other times it doesn't, and sometimes it works for a while, then crashes, and loops, and sometimes successfully restarts!
Dealer is ordering a new unit for installation in the new year.
pls update us on the results of your new install - good luck and happy holidays

Had 4.76 while in Germany. Came back to USA and got US maps updated and now I have 4.52. Dealer can't figure out how to get it back. Anyone have any info on this? I have 15 months left on CPO for my 2014. Was hoping a map update will come out to fix the problem, but if not, I will bring it back before the warranty runs out to get 4.76. The dealer has tried to ping Porsche to find out how to get 4.76, but short of reloading the latest maps, which we have done, he doesn't know what to do.
Would appreciate any help.

well the good news is that the replacement PCM was waiting at the dealership - the bad news is that they "forgot" that my PCM had the "exclusive" "Paint to ext color" option ... so now the hunt begins to see how to order
a new PCM in my exterior color (Sapphire Blue Met - which is no longer in the std palette) ...
Also the bad news is that a s/w upgrade did not solve the constant rebooting problem...
just as an FYI, I notice that there is an audible "click" from the PCM just before it shows the Porsche Crest logo splash screen, this noise sounds suspiciously similar to the noise a disk drive makes when resetting after
trying to access a bad block - or its a power relay being tripped (but I would expect to hear that every time a PCM booted)
now I wait to hear if I can get another painted PCM...

A funny thing happened on the way to the office...
OK, so my 2015 GTS PCM unit has been in a rebooting loop since before the holidays, and I am waiting for my dealership to figure out how to get a replacement PCM unit with the fascia painted to ext color...
The unit is "useless" constantly booting and rebooting - it simply is not function - but...
yesterday driving into the office I was idly sitting in traffic, and for some unknown reason I pressed the parking sensor "off" button above the rear view mirror - and voila! the PCM started working again???
it worked all the way home ... I'm going to monitor the situation to see if this has resolved the issue ... or if its just the gremlins toying with me...
watch this space!
UPDATE: while the rebooting problem has not totally gone away, disabling the parking sensors seems to help the PCM "stay" booted ... weird!

My PCM went cray, cray last fall. All sorts of craziness going on with it. Was like one of my ex-girlfriends. But I digress...
Took it to the dealership and it was swapped out for a brand new one under warranty, including a new six CD changer (as I have Burmester). Works like a charm again.

I’m having the same problem regrettably. Car booked for a 4 year major in three weeks. Will get it replaced too I’m thinking based on the replies here.
Randomly cycles and reboots. No Bluetooth and the maps loading screen...
