Ignored next to Mini

I don't think the girls with the OP ignored his 911. It's more like they tried pretending not to notice it as in this society, noticing material things are, sometimes, taken a being a "gold digger".

I met up with some friends and I was parked next to a Mini. As we were getting into our cars at the end of the evening one of the girls says to him "wow, cute car" and walks right past my 911.1 C4S.
Most women I've met couldn't care less about your car and obviously I didn't buy the car to impress anyone, but as a single guy it still stung a bit that she noticed the Mini over the 911.
On the other hand I've had random people ask to take pictures of the car and come up and ask questions about it, but as much as I like the Mini I never thought of it as competition for the 911 in terms of looks.

There is no substitute.

I agree. I was driving my cab with the top down the other day and a woman beside me at a stop light leaned out of the window of her MDX and said, "It must be nice to be able to afford a car like that." I didn't now what to say. You can spend $65k on an MDX. I paid $68k for my C2S cab. If I had it to do over, I'd be tempted to say, "You need to check your envy" along with other less family-friendly retorts.

You can tell Dogs are color blind. Jeez lime green glasses and a yellow mini.
As far as the OP, I agree with the gals, a 911 is not cute, a mini is. On a counter pont a modern mini is sorta cute, but in a cubby way. I know I'm stepping on thin ice here, but its kinda like a good looking girl carring some extra pounds. The original mini is really cute in a nice trim/slim way.

Wow, I wasn't expecting such a response. One of the things I like about the 911 is that unlike something like a Ferrari you don't draw a ton of attention to yourself. The reason I bought the car was because I enjoy driving.
I actually test drove a mini about 10 years ago and really liked it. Even though it's not that fast it's a lot of fun.
This girl was not even someone I'm interested in, but as I said before it kind of bothered me at the time that she commented on the Mini and not the 911.
Now that I think about it I think the comments about the 911 not being "cute" are right on. Also, I definitely don't want to find a gold digger.

Such a funny thread - that Youtube video is hilarious as are some of the comments..
I was sat in an old classic car 25 years ago - 66 Volvo Amazon - nice blue colour - lots chrome - a sunny day - out with some friends - at a set of lights - a girl rolls up next to us on a bicycle - pretty- slim - shorts on etc.
She leaned over and said "nice car" - somebody - might have been me i cannot remember - replied - "nice legs" - that got a smile and off we all went... happy days.
That's life - never ceases to amaze me what people like and do not - it takes all sorts.
German girls like Porsches sometimes as Daddy had one.......
