Ignored next to Mini

My wife loves her mini because it's cute and it's fun to drive.
If if a guy complimented a big jacked up pickup truck and ignored the 911 I think that's about equivalent. Says far more about the person than the vehicle.
And almost anyone can buy a Mini. When I had a nismo 370Z I got tons of attention from guys who thought it was cool and said so - it received more attention than the 911 and it was just a $40k car. I figured part of the appeal was that the Z was attainable and relatable. A late model 911 isn't.
Was it the Fast and Furious that featured this dope?

I agree. I was driving my cab with the top down the other day and a woman beside me at a stop light leaned out of the window of her MDX and said, "It must be nice to be able to afford a car like that." I didn't now what to say. You can spend $65k on an MDX. I paid $68k for my C2S cab. If I had it to do over, I'd be tempted to say, "You need to check your envy" along with other less family-friendly retorts.

I had several Minis and last one was a convertible. Fun to drive but got I tired of people saying "cute car". A long time ago a beautiful 18 girl liked my 70 Nova and married me cause of it. That was 45 years and she still loves cars. Not sure about me, though.
