I know you mentioned that you have sport chrono, but do you have PSE? You wont hear much of anything without it.

Have the .2 C4S with PSE, with all comparisons there almost the same sound, still like the 3.8 NA a tad better, tad more throaty.

Looking at Fabspeed components currently, they make both .1 and .2 sound depleted.

yes have the PSE as well and had it on but didn't sound that much different. Louder but the gargle backfire wasn't pronounced. Maybe I should bring it to the dealer. Its a 991.2 4S cabrio

Plenty of pops and bangs on my 991.2 Targa 4S when in Sport mode (none in normal or Sport Plus which is normal) I've had one pop/backfire so loud in a tunnel I flinched in my seat.

Yeah he's not getting this part for some reason.

You will absolutely get a warning light if it fails. Mine just failed for this reason.

Sport Mode with PSE activated provides maximum burble/overrun. To accentuate the potential of this sound, the biggest restricting factor are those dense factory cats. A set of our PSE Sport Cats will do the trick if you want more

I have a 991.1 - on deceleration it wakes the dead!

I just watched an in-depth review of the 991.2 GTS and noticed the sound difference, also commented by the reviewer.

Have you followed the appropriate procedures:
1. Connect Iphone to your radio via bluetooth
2. Select "gargle on deceleration" (Suggest clip from the 917 at LeMans
3. Turn up volume
4. Enjoy

I think it has to be under extreme use. What I mean is that you have to accelerate hard and on the downshift or let up, you will hear it. Does it never happen under any circumstances? The exhaust button on the right is showing up as red?

For what it's worth - If you want to check it out - i took my car to Manhattan Motor cars - a place I swear I never would go because of previous treatment in the sales department. I had them put my front plate on. They could not have been nicer - more friendly - ZERO attitude, etc. I will try to service my car there when it comes due and see how it goes. It might be a good thing to check that out. (Though is your car in Florida?)

Sounds pretty awesome!

I didn't get the PSE because I live in a very quiet neighborhood and the base seemed fine to me.

As a memo to Porsche - that whistle may want to be toned down .
