Does 991.2 GTS PSE sound better than normal 991.2 PSE
Hey all,
I was browsing the marketing page for the GTS and I heard the sample PSE sound and is it just me that the exhaust sounds better than the standard 991.2 PSE models.
http://www.porsche.com/specials/en-u...strong-willed/
I could not hear the tiny turbo spool at all. It sounded just like a NA.
And why does their page say that GTS - 0 to 60 is like 3.4 seconds. Shouldn't it be slight faster be near 3.0 seconds. For me 3.4 is fast too.
Really happy the GTS is out

This is so classic and personally I'm really pissed. They had years to engineer PSE for the new bi-turbo cars, and I have a .2 C4S with PSE. Everyone in the Porsche Universe bitches, sales aren't what they hoped for and shockingly...shockingly a better solution is found, in less than a year. I think everyone that worked on the original .2 PSE should have to buy their own coffee for the next five years or be forced to take early retirement!!!
We see it time and time again, that's why they did the GT4, the GT3 .2 with rumored manual, the R that we all want but can't get. How about just doing it right the first time?
Come on! Who the hell is running things over there? Is everybody playing musical chairs with VW, Bentley and Lamborghini? For God sakes these are not difficult problems?!?!??!?
I'll guess I'll be spending another 4K to retrofit the GTS PSE on my .2 which I already spent close to 3k on. Hooray for Porsche.
My next car is going to be a 30k replica Speedster.

I would not be surprised at all if there were some changes with the GTS PSE. PSE was the last developmental challenge of the .2. There was some article over a year ago about how the engineers struggled with the PSE sound and the development pushed right up until the end to get the sound right. It still sucks.
I haven't listened to it on the configurator yet but are you comparing apples to apples? Obviously GTS has PSE standard so the sound recording is going to be PSE while the .1S is an option and it's sound recording is non-PSE (until you go into the PSE option to listen to it)

I had PSE / Sport Chrono on my 991.1 C4S w/o power kit and all are std on my 991.1 GTS Club Coupe ..even in NA motor era these two PSE exhausts sound different at all speeds and all permutations of settings of the console buttons ...latter version is sl deeper , "smoother and tighter " sounding ,subjectively , to me .... hard to explain in words !

I would imagine the HP bump of te GTS is playing a part in this. Just like .1 owners are seeing/saying/hearing with the PowerKit cars.
I sure do like the more middle exhaust location of the .2 PSE's.

And probably not only the HP bump, but also the larger turbos allowing more sound to come through. I'd guess that the PSE muffler itself is the same.

I wouldn't trust " told by the dealer " per this specific discussion unless it is the dealer's parts manager looking at his computer screen ! And if there is only one set of .1 PSE side cans and mid muffler part numbers , then the diff in .1 PSE sound is prob more from the sum of the the powerkit-only variable air intake plenum and of course its altered ign mapping .

Wouldn't the larger turbos prevent more sound from coming through? If they're larger, won't it take more exhaust gas to spin them?

Deposit for C4GTS paid on February 17th. Allocation (vehicle status V200) was received last week and have an estimated delivery date of November 15th. Really long wait compared to many other people who ordered the GTS models here
