I think we are currently paying about $8-10 per month per subscription, 2 subscriptions. Now that they have the app, you only need 1 subscription per person and can use your phone's Bluetooth for the non set up car. My suv is set up for Sirius and I use the app in my 911. My wife has the other subscription for her suv.

Every year for the past three I call them up a couple of days before autopay kicks in to cancel and they agree to renew the annual service for about $100 for each of our 2 cars.

I haven't noticed any loss of quality but I also don't use it that much in the 911. Bigger issue for me is fumbling around with the app on the phone, trying to change stations. But it seems to work well enough if you can settle on a station or 2 and not have to keep changing.

Subscribing to XM Sirius is the closest thing you can find to joining the mob. No matter what you do, you can't get out. If you auto-pay, they will rob you blind. If you try and quit, they refuse to take no for an answer. We stopped our 2 subscriptions about 2 years ago, and I still get harassing phone calls on a regular basis trying to suck me back in.

I pay $42 every 6 months. I have to call every 6 months and they tell me they no longer offer the pricing program i was on so I tell them oh go ahead and cancel my account and then they just renew me at that price for another 6 months.

Just signed up for a free two month trial for the Cab, then of course the within a week the mail arrives in droves. I've had this service in the past in several internal combustion vehicles. I've found that the best deals are secured when the account is expiring, and usually a phone call is in order.

Sirius/XM are exceedingly difficult to cancel particularly if u use a credit card. Their contracts have an auto renew clause. If u reject the CC charge they tend not to fight u on it. But calling them is a multi-step trip to India and beyond, I bitched at them on their FB page to get their attention once. Now using Pandora.

sracer - great points...The offshore call centers are, well, frustrating. Armed with the possibility of spending hours on the phone trying to cancel, I sent them a check for payment last year ;-) Perhaps a bad choice too as they would have my checking account number but that account expired on queue. Pandora is my preference as well, btw.

One of my pet peeves. Any service you can alter/adjust "upwards" online should not require a phone call, long hold and argument with a non-english speaking person to cancel. In any industry.

Sounds like they charge you whatever they can get away with, depending on who you talk to. I had 2 subscriptions, one for the C2S and the other for my truck. Finally got them to combine them. Explained how I'm never in the country and don't drive very much. Got an annual for $42 for both. Guess I'll be fighting with them again in May.
