Have had my 991.2 Turbo for a couple of weeks, and tried to get the Voice Control working, but no luck. When I push the Voice Control (at the end of turn signal stalk next to the Voice Symbol), the PCM displays "Speech Operation Not Available".
I figured it just wasn't configured correctly, so I attempted to activate it by pushing "Car" "Set" "System", as the manual states, and "Voice Control" appears, but it's grayed out -- couldn't change anything there.
I found out after my order was locked in that the SA did not include voice control. If not requested it is not installed. Free option but must be in order. My SA told me when I asked. He said it wasn't very good. He should have let me make that decision.

How do you "order it". It's not on the configurator like it used to be with the .1. It is supposed to be standard with the .2.

It isn't on the configurator. I only found out by reading a thread. Poor communications with SA. As I said I should have been made aware of the option.
Does the Apple Siri part work. According what I understand if you press 'and hold' the Voice Control button for 3 seconds Siri should kick in. In my V60 the voice regcognition works fairly well, in my SLK it is not so good. Not sure if I have it in my 911, I guess I will find out soon enought, I do not recall discussing it with my SA.

Reason: Word change
It says on Porsche's site that it's standard on the 991.2. Early deliveries had it listed as a no charge option. I recently confirmed with my SA all 991.2s should come with it.
That doesn't mean it will work well. I had it in my TT and BGTS. Not "perfect" IMO.
Suncoast has it listed as an option. At $790 I'm not sure it's worth it. I have voice recognition in my Audi and I swear it's become less accurate over the 2 years I've owned the car. Can't tell you how many times I've said "yes" and it took that to mean "cancel." Maybe I should try it with a German accent.
I thought this nav / infortainment / HD Radio / connect / Car Play was a bundled system that came with Voice Control. As others have said, there nothing in the Configurator that allows you to select the Voice function as an option. There are other no cost options such as Smoking Package, and that storage thing near the passenger seat. There was no disclosure on the build, like there was for the no sun roof.
Perhaps it's a firmware fix / update / or option that the service department can load. Mine is a recent build -- just got it two weeks ago, manufactured in late Sept.
Before I started this thread, I searched for this issue and couldn't find any mention. I've been reading pretty much everything on this forum and the Turbo one for 9+ months, and I don't recall this issue coming up.
I'll call the dealer tomorrow, and report back if I learn anything. Haven't check if Siri is working, but doubt that would be helpful for the PCM non-Apple functions.
My SA clicked it on my build when we were going over it. I told him I didn't see it on the configurator and he just shrugged, he said you have to order it to get it.... it's a no cost option
