It appears from Posted screen shots that only the slats are painted.
If so, I will stick with gloss black for the engine cover because all my other accents are gloss black or black in the case of tail pipes.
Door handles, hmmmm........-Richard
I'm surprised Porsche doesn't make black standard and force everyone to pay for color matched handles.
LOL, bought a couple of Honda SUVs in the 2000s and that was their schtick. Entry level trim line was LX. That got you steel wheels and black door handles and the big parking lot ding strip along the side was black. Move up to the EX and they were able to eke out enough profit to paint the door handles for you and slap on a set of alloys. It was clearly a way to goad people who didn't really care about the extra options of an EX to upgrade anyway because the sides of the LX were so cheap-*** looking.
Better off getting the painted handles first then wrapping them in gloss black vinyl for a few bucks later. You can remove it easily if you don't like it.
My service tech turned sales associate tells me the 991.2 can not be fitted with a wing or ductail, because either would mess up the new grill's airflow.
Here is GT Silver, black door handles, Sport Design mirrors with black bases, Carrera S wheels in black satin, black Porsche script and exhaust tips, and normal engine grill.
Lava orange, sport exhaust, painted rear fascia and engine grill, black door handles and sport design mirror base, black logo, glass sunroof, RS Spyder wheels.
I was at Piedmont Park in Midtown ATL today and a Miami Blue C?S drove slowly by on Piedmont Avenue. Damn. That color 911 has PRESENCE.
I'd hate to own one for myself, but as is often the case with the bright colors, I'm delighted somebody else wanted to own it!
I agree. Cool to see it on someone else's 911. Personally, I think the 911 (whatever the flavor) speaks for itself. No need to attract more attention to it than it already does.
Yup. This happens on every car that has any kind of modding community. You always want what you don't have. As soon as what you wanted becomes commonplace, you want to go back.
Personally I am happy for the painted grille option, even though it doesn't matter to me now. I always hated the GTS's black grille and hated the black grille on the .2. To me, interrupts the line of the car. That's ok if you have a big wing on it, where it is already interrupted. But even on the R, it's my least favorite aspect of the car since there's no fixed wing.
I tend to agree, but I think the black grille works with the glass sunroof because the entire roof centre is black which then carries over to the grille.
