You're not wrong, I'm just a bit over zealous...

I doubt it would actually increase the value, but it wouldn't do any harm.

Nick,

Can you give us a rough estimate timeframe of when we should expect your product?

If that is true, and the cost is not high, I might consider it.

Sound Package Plus is about 30 days out. Bose should be shortly after, but I'm waiting on another company for a critical part on Bose/Burm integration. Hopefully they can get their stuff together soon.

Awesome, looking forward to it. I have a feeling that we will get good & prompt customer service from you. Hopefully, the product will be an easy install that we won't have to bother you too much.

With proper source material, dis-enabling the automatic sound nannies, and some testing, treble/bass setting, surround on/off on *every* input the BOSE system provides very good quality sound whether or not we're fast or slow, top up or down, etc. IMHO messing with the Porsche-provided electronics is a low return on investment. But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I tend to agree. I ordered the Bose "upgrade" in 2008 on a Ferrari 599 and it was horrendous. The Bose installation in that car actually disabled the most basic of equalization controls like bass and treble. It became tolerable after an audio installation shop in La Jolla uncovered a series of button inputs which unlocked the head unit and activated the equalization controls available in the base setup.

I find the Bose in the 991 respectably good. Like you, I disable the "sound nannies." However, I find in my .2 PCM that changing bass or treble levels for one input changes them for all. Since I mostly listen to news on Sirius and all my music comes from the typical 128 kbps iTunes downloads via my iPhone, I couldn't justify the expense of the Burmester. In fact, when I wanted to order it my SA talked me out of it.

I have Burmester in the 991 and love it. I would buy it again. I have Bose in my 997 and it seems to do a good enough job for when I'm not listening to my PSE.

I have the Bose and it sounds really good to me. But I normally leave it off and listen to the PSE.

Burmester is overkill, a total waste of money IMO. Between road noise, tiny cabin and desire to often just want to hear the motor I would highly recommend not spending the money.

I have the Bose package, and I hate it.

Everything else in the car is great.

Had the BOSE in my '13 BS, Burmester in my '15 TT and went back to BOSE in my '16 BGTS. Have a Burmester in my S550 (stock) and ordered BOSE in my unborn Targa. To my ears, Burmester is a waste of money in cars like these. No question it's better standing still, but that rarely happens when I'm in the car. Even in the Benz, which is pretty quiet, it doesn't sound like I would pay extra for it (to me).

Have Bose and its sort of ok. Biggest pet peeve - AM sound is garbage, too muddy, not clear. The wife's SRX and my 19 yr.old Audi S6 have much better AM sound. For music I'll use CDs or a thumb drive.
