Default I'm dripping...

Anyone know what this could be? Noticed it today. Car was last driven about a day or so ago. No warning lights. Oil level good. Noticed some staining on the exhaust, can this be it?

It looks like water that has been stained with exhaust residue. Is it possible water got into the AWE system and leaked back out?

That would make sense as I just washed the car the day prior! Thanks, I will keep a close eye, but so far, I don't see anything else dripping. Good call!

This. More-or-less.

OP, Mess on the floor looks like soot and water. Water is always in your exhaust; it gets there because there's water in the air that the engine breaths-in. When the exhaust cools you get condensation. When you start the car in the morning the exhaust pressure blows the water out of the tail pipes. The water will be mixed with combustion by products from a rich cold-start mixture.

If the sludge is dripping from the tail pipes when cold then it's probably ok.
If the sludge is dripping from the exhaust tubing then maybe not ok. In your picture, it looks like it could be a not-tight-enough band clamp on your AWE.

Thanks worf, I will check the tubing and make sure everything is tight this week. Appreciate your input.

The water in exhaust is because water is a by-product of burning gas. The moisture from the air is a small portion of the water vapor in the exhaust.

I suspect he has minor exhaust leak at that clamp.

Is it something AWE need to address or is it just one of those things we can live with?

It's not a problem. Cleans up with water.

I know I said this before but it looks like there's an exhaust leak at the clamp pictured allowing condensate to come out. Clamp needs to be tightened or exhaust paste/sealant is needed in that joint.
