Nice list! Although I think for this forum I'd recommend the Werks Reunion over Quail for Friday.

Oh, I did not realized you wanted
the 'complete' recommended list. I put that together
for Rennlisters coming to Rennsport V:

Other restaurants in Carmel Valley & Carmel Valley Village that I recommend:

Baja Cantina (Mexican) on 7166 Carmel Valley Road (not far from Carmel-by-the-Sea):
http://www.carmelcantina.com
The weekly gathering of sport cars & hot rods is on Thursdays!

The Baja Cantina owner, auto collector Pat Phinny, also is the proprietor of 'Turn 12'
restaurant (American) in downtown Monterey - thus named because Laguna Seca
has 11 turns! http://www.turn12barandgrill.com

*********

'Carmel Valley Village' (20/30 minute drive from Carmel). Can also be accessed via
Laureles Grade from Route 68 in vicinity of Laguna Seca):

Corkscrew on 55 West Carmel Valley Road / Carmel Valley Village
http://www.corkscrewcafe.com
The owners, Walter & Gaston Georis, also are the proprietors of Casanova &
The Biclyclette in Carmel. Gaston drives a Boxster.

Cafe Rustica on 10 Del Fino Pl / Carmel Valley Village
http://www.caferusticavillage.com

Lokal on 13762 Center Street
http://www.lokalcarmel.com/about-us.html

Wine Tasting
Bernardus Winery Tasting Room on 5 West Carmel Valley Road / Carmel Valley Village
http://www.bernardus.com
Bernardus Winery is owned by Ben Pon, an ex-Porsche factory driver,
whose family are Porsche (& VW Group) importers for Holland!

Talbott Vineyards Tasting Room on 5 Pilot Road, Carmel Valley Village
http://www.talbottvineyards.com
Talbott was owned by a friend, notable motorcycle collector, Robb Talbott!
It has just been sold. Robb used to have part of his extensive motorcycle
collection on display at the tasting room.

Carmel Mid-Valley
Jeffrey's Grill / 112 Mid Valley Center / Great Breakfast & Brunch spot.
Halfway to Carmel Village. Closer to Quail Lodge & Carmel proper!
http://www.jeffreysgrillandcatering.com

*******

By the way, you can drive from Carmel to Greenfield (on 101, south of Salinas)
via Monterey County G16 Road. Pretty twisty...and a good interior road to drive your Porsche!

http://www.seemonterey.com/things-to...scenic-drives/

Due to the current Soberanes Fire, suggest you check with CalFire
before coming up G16 from 101 in Greenfield just in case of unexpected road closure:

http://calfire.ca.gov/index
*************

Big Sur down the coast on US 1:

Deetjens (Breakfast or Lunch - you will not soon forget the place or the ride!)
http://www.deetjens.com/restaurant.html

Ventana (Lunch)
http://www.ventanainn.com/#/dining

Rocky Point (closest to Carmel)
http://www.rockypointrestaurant.com

*******

City of Monterey

Tarpy's Roadhouse on 2999 Salinas Hwy (Route 68 just past Monterey Airport)
http://tarpys.com

Monterey Fish House on 2114 DelMonte Ave
http://www.yelp.com/biz/montereys-fish-house-monterey-2

Sandbar & Grill on Municipal Warf #2 (less tourist than Fisherman's Warf).
http://www.sandbarandgrillmonterey.com

Crystal Fish on 514 Lighthouse Ave. (Best Sushi in Monterey)
http://www.yelp.com/biz/crystal-fish-monterey

Bistro Moulin (Best French restaurant in Monterey)

*********

French Bakeries

Paris Bakery on 271 Bonifacio Pl, Monterey
http://parisbakery.us

Lafayette Bakery at 3672 The Barnyard near Carmel
http://www.lafayettebakery.com

************

Finally, 'Monterey Bay Aquarium' in Cannery Road, Monterey
(if you do one tourist stop, this is the one!).
World class aquarium on Monterey Bay!

Taking the family down and staying Wednesday and Thursday night. Thank you for sharing your recommendations. Went last year to pick up my son from golf camp on this same week. So cool basically seeing a car magazine come to life.

I wish there was a toll road to bypass all the traffic. I know so many people who don't go b/c of the crowded roads.

+1 its a nightmare, especially once you hit Monterey, the section of 1 from there to Carmel is one big parking lot ... why I wont be going Friday to Werks Reunion

What! You guys don't have a personal helicopter!!?? .... Yea me neither. I'm heading down in the late morning of the 18th. I'm sure traffic will be fine at that time 👍. Heading to Werks around 6:30AM on Friday from the Embassy Suites in Sea Side.

Ill be driving in Thursday afternoon, staying in Monterey, and then heading to Werks at around 6AM. Did the same thing last year and traffic was not too bad at those times. Regardless, the site of so many fabulous cars on the road makes it the best traffic jam in the world.

Regarding traffic, it hasn't been as bad as expected especially with Waze. Last year I picked my son up on at 1pm, Friday of Car Week and got here in 2.75hrs from Marin. Waze had me go from I-280 to 101 and directed to me a some side entrance in 17mi drive. Took me home through Santa Cruz.

This year got here in 2hrs leaving SF at 11am yesterday, a Tuesday. Went to the driving range at Poppy Hills and traffic in and out was light. However, there was bad traffic on Highway 1 going to the main 17mi entrance. Use another entrance.

Traffic should get heavier though as tents were just getting set up yesterday. Checked into our hotel to find out Sotheby's is having their auction here. Too bad we leave Thursday but get to preview them today. Already lots of special cars parked and driving around all over the place.

I am heading out at 5am ( I usually awaken at 4 am or earlier , 7 days a week , to work out for 4 hours anyway, just like my dad did for decades , lol ) and should arrive at Werkes Reunion by 6:15-6:30 am ...sooo...not too worried about traffic .

Hey it's 3 AM .... rise and shine !

The key is get into Monterey before 9:00. Later than that and you will sit in traffic for a long time.
