Default Question about wheel nut torque at my local tire store?

My local tire store just removed a good size nail and put a patch on the left rear P zero. Service was complimentary but I gave the tech a $20 tip for being careful not to scratch the rim. I did not think to ask him about wheel nut torque as he used the air hammer to re-install. I know the torque recomm is about 120 so my question is what the standard 'default' setting is at these tire stores. I can't imagine Porsche wheel lugs/nuts would be more 'fragile' than any other manufacturer. OTOH I would imagine tire stores would have a tendency to over rather than under torque. Thoughts?

Tightening torque for wheel bolts: 160 Nm (118 ftlb.)

Never ever let them rattle them home with the air impact wrench.

Those wheel bolts are now probably torqued to 150+ ft-lbs. Back in the day, with Porsche's aluminum lug nuts, an impact wrench would split the lug nuts occasionally resulting in the need to carefully drill/dremel-out the collet. Now, with lug bolts, a impact wrench might strip the wheel hub.

Most tire stores have color coded torque extensions, and do the final tightening by hand. Here is a Link to the one I bought for my use at home.

No hand wrench to finish them off after the air hammer?
I would not be comfortable with this, at all......

You need to be proactive rather than reactive. I have my tires installed by a race shop and use titanium lugs. I make sure I speak to the installer and tell them that if they break a lug, strip etc. it is on their dime.

Thanks everyone for the thoughts. The wheel will be coming off again in a month or so at the dealership as they continue to try and figure out the ebrake issues on this wheel.

I'd ask for my $20 back. Don't wait a month to get this addressed at the dealership.

I just had some tire balance shenanigans from my go to discount tire center.

Went in for a slight vibration and asked for them to check the front wheels.. After reinstallation going home the vibration was 100% worse.

After checking torque ... I noticed when feeling the tread that it was a bit ruff and going in the wrong direction to be smooth. Here they reinstalled the tires on the wrong side of the car.

After a quick switcheroo back to nice and smooth no vibration.
