the "park anywhere" master....

first bought a SMART companion car when i got rid of my first cayenne for an Ariel Atom and needed something when it rained.. and have had one ever since..

Parks:
-Can park it anywhere
-can drive on sidewalks
-40-50mpg
-old ones top out at 92, new chassis 98mph
-more space than you would expect for luggage and groceries
-entirely covered in "molded in color" plastic that doesn't dent, and scratches the color of the car.
-insurance is 56$ a year
-new chassis has a 11ft turning circle, yes... 11feet!

best of all, the new 2016MY 453 chassis comes turbo and even manual trans if desired, with BRABUS performance chip it add's another 28% horsepower.

Downsides:
-2 seats
-people laugh at your incessantly
-doesnt travel offroad well

As mentioned in my other thread, my i3 lease is up later this year. It's been a fun DD. It's remarkably quick from 0-30. Not sure what will be next but so far I'm looking at a M235i, S3, Mini Cooper Clubman, and maybe a Golf R or Focus RS. I have a reservation for a Model 3 but who knows if and when they will go on sale.

My commuter is a company car. As a result, my DD is a 2006 Toyota Tundra with 32,000 miles.

3 dailies but no beaters....Cooper S, Macan Turbo, C4 GTS Cab. All fun and all chosen on different days depending on mood, weather , etc. GT3 stays in the garage for the weekends.

My daily is a 16 WRX 6MT. It's fast enough for public roads and fun, and AWD so perfect for NE winters. I have 2 small kids (1 and 4) so I don't care if they eat snacks or make a mess of the seats and rugs.Attachment 1068655

My old C class is my "beater". I keep wanting to pickup one of the AMG's but then I remind myself that it's going to lose 50% of it's value in 3 years and my current beater only has 25K miles on it... I'm going to hold out as long as I can...

The beater status alternates between the Touareg TDI and the M235i.
