I think you need to remove the bumper and de-badge. You can represent it to be off your 1968 Rambler, and suddenly the price will drop precipitously!!

The bumper needs to be off to repair and repaint regardless. No good body shop will paint with the bumper on the car.

I took it to two other shops this morning for quotes. We'll see what the estimates are.

But yes the bumper has to be removed and the badging cannot be salvaged. Both this places didn't just say a number. So a little more hopefully that I'll get a realistic number.

Huh? Why not? Just remove and re-attach. Or, just leave it on and have them paint it same as body color. That might look cool.

^^^That part could be true. The adhesive stick isn't good for a reapplication. But regardless it shouldn't cost more than 1200 and thats being SUPER generous to the shop...1400 if you have it done with a bra over it at the end.

I just had this exact. And I mean EXACT repair done to my car. $1,800CDN. At the dealership bodyshop. No clue what that would be in the U.S. But that's what I paid in Toronto. Same EXACT work. Bumper removed. Respray.

Like I mentioned above the bumper respray with the labor to remove and install should cost no more than $800. The badging they are correct. You have to remove it, the adhesive is shot and it's less of a hassle to buy new with new adhesive. Figure that's a couple of hundred, even though you can now choose less badging or Matt black etc.... Lots of choices. So with the badging and install still $1200 should cover it all.(That's almost 1600 Canadian)

Finally got a couple quotes back, both were around 1100. Those quotes even included replacing and painting the front spoiler on my Sport Design Fascia which is a lil scraped up on the bottom from low clearance.

The shop had only high in cars and they showed me some of the before and afters of other cars which were excellent. She will be going in as soon as they get the badging in and I will be sending pictures after its done.

Thanks again for everyone's input and for helping me not spend unnecessary $$s

Good for you. That is what this forum is for.

Along with a little girl fighting and name calling also.

Such is the way of Rennlist:

Step 1) ask question

Step 2) get called an idiot for asking such a stupid question

Step 3) endure the pages of in-fighting about who's more stupid

Step 4) finally get an answer and be on your merry way
