If it's hit and run and you make a claim you'll pay the deductible but they should cover the rest + you should not get dinged as an "at fault" incident. So it shouldn't affect your rates.
With my wife's BMW incident I described above, It was less than my deductible to get fixed.

Depends on what state. Not sure what Florida's laws for insurance are, but here in WA, if you parked and someone hit the car, it's claimable under Uninsured motorist which is usually $300 if they can't find the person, $100 if they can find and can't recover the deductible, and 0$ if they get the deductible from the person.
I guess the logic used was there was no "insured" person in your car when it got hit. Had this happen on our SUV while we were coming back to the car. Saw the guy back into the side of our car. He didn't have any insurance, so couldn't claim under his. Our insurance told us to claim uninsured motorist. since we can identify who hit us it would be 100 instead of 300 with no raise in rates. In the end, we got our deductible back since I think the guy got sent to collections for the full repair amount, including deductible. That and it's illegal to drive w/o insurance in the state of WA.
Anyways, check into possibly a uninsured motorist claim with no fault. Could save you a lot on a full repaint.

I had huge success with a franchise group called "Colors on Parade" multiple times. They specialize on issues like this but like all franchises the franchisee should be checked out. I had major scratches/cuts on a BMW bumper and one shop said the bumper needed to be replaced and the guys that fixed it "welded" the plastic and you could never tell it was damaged. Body repair like most things can be done many different ways but no visibility of the damage is the critical piece.

Price for bumper repainted is silly. I had the Porsche Aero Cup kit installed which required front bumper paint, mask for Matt black center, wing and wing assembly painted , all parts removed and new parts installed with Rennline mesh inserts for $1800 at the best high end shop here that does all Porsche, Maserati, and McLaren work. Did not include the cost of the mesh inserts. So $2500 for a rear bumper repair is not right.

$2,500 is absolute piracy (been there, done that).
$1,500 and much less for an entire re-spray/re-badge from an authorized Porsche paint shop.

It's what happens when you let an unscrupulous body shop know you're not filing insurance. No way that estimate would be approved by an insurance adjuster. I cracked (big time) the fiberglass front spoiler on my Ferrari 599 years ago. Took it to a local shop and told them I'd be paying out of pocket. $2500. Took it to another shop where I'd had other work done. $1100 with less than half the hours of the original quote.

I did body work in high school at a high end collision centers. I prepped and painted a few Porsches back then. This should not cost more than $800 to repair. You do not need a new bumper cover, it can be easily repaired. Check your local forum for the best place BMW and Porsche guys go for repairs. BMW and Porsche track a lot, so chances are they know where the best shops are.
