Red in general is really difficult to capture correctly in photographs....and it depends a lot on the lighting conditions! In bright sunlight, it is quite bright.
I should have stated it has an orange tint in some light to my eye. Your pictures don't show it but then the pic immediately above looks like Lava orange. If you compare GR and Carmine Red side by side, the orange tint is apparent in GR.
I owned a 2013 911 4S in guards red. it is a beautiful color, however, it definitely has an orange hue to it. I ended up getting a 2016 4 GTS in Carmine Red. Carmine is more of the red I thought Guards would be if that makes any sense. To me guards is on the spectrum between Lava Orange and Carmine Red. Carmine is a truer red in my opinion. But buy what you like.
Never get a car that's not the color you're looking for. It's the first and last thing you'll notice every time you drive the car and you'll never be happy if the color is wrong.
Figure out which color you like best, and don't pull the trigger until you find it.
Agree.
To the OP: I think from your question, your not sure if you like GR. I would pass if you don't like it. That doesn't mean it's a bad color, in fact it's a great color, for others that is.
You should pick a color that makes YOU feel great as you walk to the vehicle and also when you get out and stare at it as you walk away. This is part of the experience at least in my opinion. Therefore pick your top 3 choices that give you this feeling and then pick one of them.
When I get out of the car I just stare at it while walking away and wonder how awesome the vehicle is. I think the color is very important in this regard. You will find another great deal.
Guards is tomato red, Carmine is blood red. Both awesome colors. Guards obviously more of a classic Porsche color. I almost bought a guards red 911 but I'm into boring colors that nobody notices, so I passed.

I agree completely I had guards red for 2 years and sold it. It was red enough and deep enough. I prefer carmine. I keep trying to like lava orange but it has enough red that I don't like it either. I prefer gulf orange.
Here was my guards red TTS. Searching for a carmine red GTS now !
