Default Remove 991 sun visors (step by step)

I removed my sun visors from my 991.2 since I screwed up the decal removal (see bottom pics). I've ordered new Alcantara ones to take their place. I simply took a small flathead and pried under the plastic cover then guided the screwdriver up along the cover until it popped off. Disconnect the plug and your done.

I just covered my airbag sticker with another sticker (black). I went with the low-risk approach.

Wow... What solvent/technique did you use to try and remove the warning decals?

Exclamation

Failed on sticker removal and took on visor removal - brave man!
I will admit the alcohol removal method was tedious and time consuming to get an undetectable result.

91% rubbing alcohol, soaked cloth wrapped in plastic bag 20-25 minutes. Had I did it over I would have removed the visors first and then realized I could have just used my thumb to rub up against the end of the decal and push forward causing it to roll up then eventually come off. I used my fingernail instead. Bad idea. 2nd bad idea was leaving the towel on too long.

Next I will attempt changing the color of my pebble gray deviated stitching to a light tan color by placing the new dye directly on the thread. LOL.

I really don't understand how some guys are having seriously bad experiences with the removal of the stickers. I used the method described on this forum which called for soaking a cloth or paper towel in the 91% alcohol payed on my stickers so they get evenly and appropriately soaked without any excess alcohol running down the visors and mine peeled off all in one piece and with some minor alcohol and 3M clean up I have no shadow lines and no evidence of ever having stickers.

Is it a lack of patience in not letting the stickers properly soak, some materials reacting differently, seems like it should be an easy DIY.

It was very difficult to get the stickers off in my case. I soaked them for probably 30 minutes in 91% iso, and still had to scrape them with my fingernail for another half hour. They definitely didn't just "roll up and fall off" the way people said they would. They looked like 07CarreraS's photos, except for some reason the material didn't take any damage in my case.

Takes a strong person to highlight their screwups like that, btw. Hopefully others will benefit.

Yep, I did it as you did but my experience was much different. Can't explain it.

Your leather ones are more sensitive than the standard vinyl ones. For leather, the soak time should be a lot less I assume. Anyone else done their leather visors?

Yep,which I was afraid of. When you rub the decal to try and peel it up some of the leather came off as well. I finally got it all of but now I've got 2 leather visors with some pitting. However, the Alcantara's I ordered should blend in more nicely.
