Agreeing that removing visors is best.
It gives you better visibility and control over sticker removal.
It must be very difficult reaching overhead, to rub off the sticker, with the visors still attached.

I replaced my visor with Alcantra with no Stickers on them .
Perfect.
What really pissed me off was the VW visors they have on a $200 K TTS. Alcantra should have been standard

Thanks for posting. At the end of the day, your visors look great. When you take the originals to a shop and you please get an estimate to have them covered in leather and alcantara and let us know what they say?

I really don't understand how some guys are having seriously bad experiences with the removal of the stickers. I used the method described on this forum which called for soaking a cloth or paper towel in the 91% alcohol payed on my stickers so they get evenly and appropriately soaked without any excess alcohol running down the visors and mine peeled off all in one piece and with some minor alcohol and 3M clean up I have no shadow lines and no evidence of ever having stickers.
Is it a lack of patience in not letting the stickers properly soak, some materials reacting differently, seems like it should be an easy DIY.

The second set was a different story and took extreme patience. Given my level of impatience I'm surprised mine didn't end up like the OP's.

I removed my sun visors from my 991.2 since I screwed up the decal removal (see bottom pics). I've ordered new Alcantara ones to take their place. I simply took a small flathead and pried under the plastic cover then guided the screwdriver up along the cover until it popped off. Disconnect the plug and your done.
Thanks!

I started trying to replace the sun visors. Well, one part of the cover popped up easily, then the rest of the area refused to budge. I decided not to do any more bc I left a couple of tiny dinges on the headliner. I am afraid if I exert too much pressure I'll actually break the cover. Any more suggestions? Thanks
