Default Rennline vs Custom Car Grill?

Question solved: Thanks guys.
Conclusion, if you're a DIY guy then buy Custom Car Grill ($98 with center radiator and $49 without center). If you're having the shop do it, buy Rennline ($300 with center radiator and $275 without center). Both the same quality, Rennline is pre-cut and Custom Car Grill needs cutting and bending to shape.

Get mesh grill or replace radiators later. The ROI is strong with this mod.

Big thanks to @77Tony for the awesome DIY of Custom Car Grill.

I just picked up a 991 GTS. I noticed the radiators of these cars are exposed to rock damage and bugs to collect.

I'm looking at 2 options. Rennline (pre-cut) $300 and Custom Car Grill (2 Black Small Diamond 12"x48") $100. I don't mind cutting it myself as it's on the back of the bumper so you can't see imperfections. What do you guys think?

Sorry, I meant anyone compared the quality of the 2. I'm guessing the quality is the same, just one you have to cut yourself vs pre-cut.

STG: Your car is featured on Rennline? Awesome.

What is the flat flier that you were using called? It that for cutting or bending?

Thanks for the feedback. If I take it to the shop to do this, I'll go with Rennline since it'll take them longer to custom cut the grill. But if I do it myself, I'll go with Custom Car Grill.

Option #3: Home Depot Gutter Protector, $8. I don't think Plastidip will hold up though, LOL. It's a lot of work to remove the bumper for the center grill version, so this isn't recommended.

Porsche 911 Carrera (997) diy mesh grill (no bumper removal and total cost is only $9.00) Part I - YouTube
Don't think the Plastidip will hold up?? Check my posts on this specific application of matte black dip / front mesh grills... After 2 years not a single peel or other mark on them....

That's awesome. You did about 8 coats I think. I might go to Home Depot to check out their gutter protectant grill.
I love your blog by the way, thanks for posting all your info. I was trying to follow your DIY for the bumper removal, man that looked like 3hrs of work. LOL

For me, it came down to opportunity cost: I could very well have gone w/ some generic mesh grills and cut/bent to shape, but the time involved trying to do a 'perfect' job wasn't worth it.

The Rennline grills, though exorbitantly priced for what it is, is of high quality and fitted perfectly.

I did save $ on the install though, I did it myself!
