Cool, thanks! Seeing more Base 991's with performance goodies than I am seeing 997.2 S models at the $60k price range; a lot of 997.2's are still well above $60k with 25k miles.

Build quality is head and shoulders better in the 991, with a much more solid overall feel. 997 was still a holdover of much technology and chassis design from 996, I believe, whereas 991 was altogether new. I owned a 997 GTS Cab, and I loved it, but compared to the 991, well, the only things I liked better in the 997 than the new generation were the steering feel and lack of a sound symposer.

While I agree with the "buy what you like best" opinion, this thread was supposed to be about the track performance of the 2 models driven by the same pilot, and I found that question interesting. It remains unsolved...
