Actually it's a smart strategy. If they can't make the .2 sound as good, Porsche can just change the .1 software to make it sound boring too. Then there's nothing to complain about with the .2.

If there is a "dumbed down" .1 software version, I'm concerned! My car is at the dealer right now. Will ask about it in the morning if there's a software "downgrade".

Oh man... do you have your SA's cell #? You might want to wake him up. Don't risk it! I hope they didn't already do it.

They didn't do anything yet! Thank goodness they were backed up and didn't get to the car today. They're getting a call first thing in the morning!

I'm curious if there's anything to this

Just like Apple??

The new software versions screw up and intentionally make the old iPhones slower giving people reasons to upgrade. I'm telling you, they do that!

Apple totally does that!

I'm happy to hear your car is still ok! I'll probably start going to an indy if this is a real thing just to make sure some newb tech doesn't forget to look at the SA's instructions "oh look there's an update I'll just put that in..."

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions yet. He's in KOREA. Could very well be a local country thing.

And first post...

my porsche 991 mk1 4s cabriolet (not upgrade yet)
my friend 991 mk1 4s cabriolet (upgrade)

now compare , exhuast sound is totally different car.

i am thinking that mk2 is turbo exhaust sound is not noisy as mk1 , so they downgrade its sound not upgrade. otherwise people they do not interesting new version.

I have always wondered/ been suspicious of this. Would love to know if there is any truth to it. Hard to imagine though. If this were true and went mainstream it would bring the biggest company in the world to its knees.

Someone needs to call Apple out on this. Would be worse than Dieselgate
