Default Not impressed by OEM painted key...

Hello;

I purchased this new from Suncoast couple of months ago and I've already noticed two chips on the key. I've used it about 5-6 times since I've purchased...is this normal wear & tear?

If you have the "entry and drive" system, you might get one of their leather key cases.

It looks like you may have other keys attached to it, which could be causing the chips.
My red one is left solo with nothing else on it.

Ya I guess it might be the keys....just surprised that it didn't take that long to get all dinged up. Oh well.

I went with the expensive OEM one too, but I've wondered how well the cheap eBay replacements compare. There isn't much to it, after all.

Yeah, all my porsche keys have chipped away in no time. Not an option I'd ever go with again.

Does XPel make a kit? : )

Maybe some of that ceramic paint coating would toughen it up.

I keep mine in a pocket by itself and so far (9 months in) it's great.

Mine is in great shape but I have the cover on it and never put together with other keys on a key chain, that is asking for it as your little porsche is getting keyed in your pocket

I've never purchased OEM but these cheap Ebay ones (these are gloss black) holds up pretty well

Glad I did not bother.

To OP: makes sense that keys will have this effect jumbling in one's pocket.

[edit]
Thx for ebay cheap option tip!
