Default Jack pad?

Hi Guys,

I picked up a screw in my right rear tire, and I would rather remove the wheel in my garage, and take it to get repaired, instead of inflating it and driving the car. What do you use as a pad for the floor jack?

Thanks!

I see several of the "hockey puck" style on Amazon, I just don't know what's suitable for the 991. Trying to do a search on here returns too many non-relevant hits.

Just use a hockey puck and don't over think the process.

Go to a place like Play It Again Sports, and buy a couple used hockey pucks. About a $1 each.

Thanks guys! Lexvan's suggestion sounds great! I won't be doing this often enough to warrant the nice ones on eBay, until my warranty is up, and I start doing my own maintenance.

Hockey pucks, NEIN!

Careful, hockey pucks lack full rigidity and can cause your floor jack to lag in fully repositioning squarely under the jack points. This can cause a roll to the jack and your car can fall off the jack. This can cause damage -- don't ask how I know.

You must be joking. The no way a hockey puck will shift a jack, unless the the jack is not set properly. Set the jack at 180 degrees to the jack point and there is no way it will shift.

What am I missing here.

I have lifted my 991.2 with my floor jack and my lift. It takes careful placement of the jack pads, but was totally doable with out any other pads.

Am I taking careless risks not using a special puck?
