I'd like to retract my earlier recommendation in this thread for the screw-in style hockey puck pad I'd gotten on eBay. I've had two of them fall apart now after only a couple of uses, and yes, I'm sure I'm using them correctly. I think I'll spring for better ones.

^Storm, I bought one from Rennline. I like it so far. Only used twice.

They certainly look much more robust!
Being a LexVan recommendation is enough for me to go ahead and order these

Am I taking careless risks not using a special puck?
Yes!!! and not wearing proper head gear!

I got these and they work great:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SGCZ537/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SGCZ537/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
(they are made of solid aluminium and are very sturdy)

PS: I spent hours reading different threads and learned so much about how to properly/safely jack up a 991.2 that I decided to make a video with everything I learned as a way to give back to community:
(if you watch this please let me know if I missed anything, or if I am doing anything wrong)
