Default If you had a choice to replace your 911

Hey guys, I went and test drove a McLaren 570s and a Huracan last weekend. Big mistake as I can't get those cars out of my head.

I've been debating about upgrading for few months now but now have started to look more seriously.

I currently drive a 16 GTS. Which car would you replace your 911 for?

Huracan- Awesome V10, NA.

570s- Turbo V8 was better than I expected but did notice some lag. Sound was ok.

650s spyder - Similar to 570s but faster and bigger. Spyder is a big plus.

New Audi R8 V10 Plus- very similar to Huracan but cheaper to maintain and insure.

Drive lots = Audi. Drive a few days a month = Lamborghini.

McLaren only if your garage is already 5+ cars deep and you need something new and unusual.....

I will probably put 6-8K miles per year. Not sure if that's too much for a Lamborghini. Audi is starting to look more like a sensible choice.

Audi Dealer quoted $1100 for pre-paid maintenance plan for R8 for up to 45k miles. Lamborghini is going to be $1k-$2k per year.

McLaren has scissor doors, is a Spyder, has Carbon Tub. But it's a Turbo....

Honda CRZ.

The only "cheap car" I actually enjoyed driving.

Ask yourself which car you will feel most comfortable parking at Sam's Club when your wife sends you out for a bag of dog chow.

Damn.. $1100 for 45K miles worth of maintenance? That seems cheap for a car like the R8.

+1 for Huracan.

Arguably the most beautiful car on the road today.

The Huracan LP 580-2 would be my choice.

Been there done that. Went from Porsche to several Ferrari's and now back to Porsche. The attention gets REALLY old. Plus each mile you put on will cost you dearly.

The Huracan is a beautiful car BUT VERY MUCH OVER THE TOP. You want attention, then it is a good choice.

The McLaren's have service issues and few dealership to service the car. In addition, the depreciation is monstrous. If I was to get one, the 675LT is the only one worth having but very expensive.

The R8 is an excellent choice. Has a good footprint on the road but it to suffers huge depreciation. I would get a used V10 plus letting the original buyer eat the depreciation.

I just sold my GT3 and ordered a 2017 TARGA. Put my name on the list for a 991.2GT3RS.

It is extremely inexpensive. Easier to insure also.

I actually drove the 580-2 and thought it was perfect. I think $200k would be a perfect price point once used ones start hitting the market.

I am sure the attention will get old really quickly, my Viper used to get a lot of attention also. I was thinking about the next GT3 or the RS but RS will be extremely hard to get. GT3 will be similar to what I have.

As far as McLaren, I am buying used. There are few 650S Spyder around $230k range which IMO is a good price but they will continue to depreciate heavily.
