So I'm looking towards the Cayman or even Panamera as an answer. Still, I won't miss my next chance to drive the Cobra.

Anyways, I am not claiming that the stats are low.

So far, all the current Caymans are still n/a as far as I know.
The Panny GTS is still a naturally aspirated V8. That is one possible alternative.
Another great alternative - might just go for a 991.1 GTS; hopefully with rear steering

The Boxster and Cayman are getting rebranded to "718" which I wouldn't even consider. As Aspir8 nicely remarked, I can get a whole lot of "Seoul" in the 4cylinder arena ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I think you must have gotten a defective car. I've driven the 991.2 (briefly, when I was picking up my car from service - plan to do it again soon) and I had to really pay attention to notice any lag and even then I'm not sure. Jeez, even my wife's N55-engined BMW (which has - to me - noticeable turbo lag) only had about 0.1s of lag before the torque hits and the Porsche is a couple of orders of magnitude better.

When I hear 1700 rpm's I have to laugh. Maybe in 7th gear! In fourth gear your not getting boost till at least 2500 rpms. Look at all the posted dyno charts since they are all fourth gear runs. Gears 1 through 3 are going to produce lag substantially higher than fourth. Yeah sure turbos can produce more hp but there will always be a price to pay in the lag department.

I had the same experience when my 50th was in service for my using my cupholder and spilling coffee.
Gummed up the whole A/C panel. I was very dissapointed in the 991.2 and having a 993 turbo before, I know what lag feels like.
My question is this. EVERYONE is talking about getting the last of the N/A cars. The GTS's and the 50th's are going to be the last great 911's outside the GT cars and the turbo. Autoweek, and all kinds of mags are talking about even grabbing the last N/A Lambos before they have to go smaller/turbo'd. I never thought about the 993s going nuts in pricing. But it did.
What do you guys think the 991.1 3.8's with powerkits are going to do, in value, when N/A Porsches are no longer available?

I agree. The 991 is a great car, but it's bigger and more cushy. More GT like. More insulated. Granted those words have been spoken about every new generation most likely. But he 991 is where it really starts for me.

Has everyone driven the 997 and 991 back to back? Is there really that much of a difference as far as driving feel? I drove a 996 and wasn't impressed, although I've heard good things about the 997
