PlayStation vs 991.2 - a right question to ask ??
Driving is a sensory experience. The 991.2 is not. The engine lacks vivacity, the ride feels insulated, the turbo lag is noticeable.
I test drove the car myself and then next to a race driver. His driving was impressive, but the car felt just the same. All you want at the touch of a button, but always insulated from the reality. Felt like playing Need for Speed from a sofa.
I'm not disputing the steering, the amazing PDK, the comfort or the styling. A lot of engineering went into this great daily driver. I just miss the raw feel of a sports car. There's more to driving than g-force on demand.
Am I the only one thinking this way?
Does the Cayman have more "soul"?

Maybe drive one with a stick. I enjoyed it a lot more (though I also enjoyed the PDK version). But the "raw feel" you're looking for might be better found in something like a Shelby Cobra.

I have both a 1st gen Cayman S and a 2014 911 and I do feel a little more connected to the Cayman, although the 911 has more power and feel a lot more grown up. Both cars are manual and that's the only transmission I'll buy for a sports car
I've driven cars with turbo lag and DCT automatics, but not the 991.2 so obviously I can't comment on that particular car, but I understand what you're saying. I'm not buying a sports car for the numbers it generates or technological features, but rather to enjoy actually driving the car. With the turbo lag and DCT I felt like I lost a lot of that experience. I'm kind of nervous about the 991.2 along with the new Boxster/Cayman
On another note, I do play Need For Speed every now and then and find it fun, but I also got Grand Turismo 6 with a wheel stand, wheel, 3 pedals, and a gearshift and that's a lot better driving experience than NFS. Much more intense

So I'm looking towards the Cayman or even Panamera as an answer. Still, I won't miss my next chance to drive the Cobra.
