Nobody is drinking Kool Aid. It is a Porsche 991 forum isn't it?? For me, the 991S appeals to me in many ways. Would never consider a Tang or a Vette. Not my style and inferior in so many ways. Want to join in the Porsche bashing, go to another brand forum and have fun.

Funny, most of the guys who come on to bash the 991 don't even own one. Why even bother with the forum if you have nothing productive to say ever?

There's always something better in some respects with an unlimited budget. At this price point, especially a used nearly new 991 like you find in "hot for sale" in the $75K-$90K range, the 991S/4S can't be beat. Even some nice 997 TT's are great options as well for the price.

Ha, the Americans finally build legitimate sports cars and the panties get in a bunch due to the lack of deviated stitching.

Drive a GT350 track pack and you might learn a thing or two.

I have a 993 turbo and a 997 turbo

You should be a happy camper then. Two nice cars. Why all the doom/gloom/bitching/sky is falling/negativity?

I don't have deviated stitching and think the Vettes and Tangs are FUGLY. Both of which the 911 does so many things better.

Or Quadhammer, are you part of the camp that thinks the 991 owners are beneath the previous generations? Only worry about mods and detailing chat??

Bad enough there's rivalry between brands, now it's 997 vs. 991, etc...?

What next, PDK vs. Manual?? Oh, we've already been there. Some people like to argue for the sake of arguing sometimes.

Supposedly when they put the turbo in the .1 body it was only producing like 320 hp- it needed air- a lot of air, so there's a lot of "fixes" to pump a ton of air into the engine and when you see the wind tunnel shots of what's going on, purely from air flow dynamic situation, it's pretty cool.
I would love to see those wind tunnel shots if you could share.

Thank you in advance!

This was a post about an advertisement. Then the slammers come out for all things wrong about Porsche. Seems some would rather they only built 1 raw model with no updates but more HP and not striving for a broader market. Keep it small and then watch it fail.

Ok so Porsche isn't perfect, so the had to intro Boxster and SUV's to not only stay solvent but to fuel R&D. I never bought a Pcar because I thought it was going to be the fastest car on the road and I had 4 turbo version that were pretty quick. It was always for the love of driving and I could do it every day if I chose.

I also always believed if I ever got disenchanted with the brand I would move on instead of bitching about it.

You think their ugly, and that's fine, but when it comes to performance, they put base 911's or even s models on the trailer.

The 911 may do some things better, but the American triumvirate also out performs the 911 at a massive price discount.

I think porsche builds a nice product, but they are a pretty pathetic company when it comes to marketing.

The 991 isn't for me and yes I do think a lot on this forum need to stop worrying about where their wheel crest point and more about driving, but that's a side point.

Maybe it's time that you get into a more modern 911. You are now three generations back. That is a lot of water under the bridge.

I think it's something different to catch people's attention so it's good in that respect. Maybe it's not cutting edge and as good as you'd hope a hologram would be, but it's not terrible.

Aside from my 911 the only other sports cars I've driven that I liked as much were my 07 Cayman S and a Ferrari F430 with the gated shifter. What I like about Porsche is the combination of performance with practicality in a way that's livable. When I was searching for a new car I was looking at everything except Porsche since I already have the Cayman, but I couldn't find anything close.

You can certainly argue that a Miata is a more pure, canonical example of a classic sports car than any modern 911. Same goes for the Boxster/Cayman.

But Camaros and Mustangs? Gimme a break. Those are pony cars. "Sports car" is a term that means many different things to many different people, but it has never referred to the idea of dropping a 600 HP truck engine in a 3500+-pound chassis equipped with the fattest tires and biggest brakes that will fit.
