Tony, You have done a beautiful job with this GTS and I am one lucky person to purchase it from you. GTS is being fully enjoyed here in NC. Can't wait to drive some of my favorite mountain roads. Talk about a dream person to buy a car from, you are the one! Here is the GTS next to my 2003 Noble M12 GTO and my son's 435i Gran Coupe. Looks at home!

Hi 77Tony and RoWA, how are your repaired air inlet duct foam seals for your 991 doing nowadays? Did they stay in place and not disintegrate after a year when you guys do your oil changes? Just curious because when I done my oil change a couple months ago I too noticed the foam pieces caught in my OEM are filters and mine were like yours, disintegrating. Not sure if the OEM foam is open cell or closed cell. At first they look like open cell. I am planning to do the same as you guys but I'm really curious on how it held up, closed cell rubber-like foam vs open cell foam? And I'm curious if the adhesive of the Ace Hardware foam kept it in place especially in how hot the engines get?
Thank you both for your responses. Planning to repair mine soon.
HI dghostman,
Closed cell ... see photos.
It has worked for me.
I did my oil change a few weeks ago and the seal is 99% in the same place.
It has compacted a little, but I saw no reason to pull it off and replace it, even though I still have extra foam.
Good luck with yours.
RoWa
