Default Ordered Car w/o SPASM

I have ordered and new 991.2 C4S and with it being my first Porsche I somehow did not order it with SPASM . Now I am not too happy with myself. I guess I am looking for assurance that the car will be good as is.

I also realize I am sounding like a cry baby here but I am .

OK. Enough said, let me have it.

Should have consulted with the .1 guys first.

.2 guys are more concerned about more relevant options like CarPlay and steering wheels

It'll be fine and if you want it to handle better and/or appear lower, a set of springs are cheap enough to add.

Can't SPASM be retrofitted?

May not be too late to change your build. For example: I ordered mine in late February and was able to change it from aero kit cup to sport design at the end of March, and they exited production on May 18.

On the other hand, I ordered mine Sat. 2/14/15 and it locked before the next weekend. Just depends on a lot of factors...

Default change order

Really not wanting to fan the flames here---

IMO---if you are unable to change order to include Sport PASM---get another car. If you are keeping the car and plan to sell, your resale will be lower and the car will be harder to sell---much harder. The Sport PASM does not negatively impact your ride quality and the lowered stance is a must.
Yes, you can add springs but it will not be a factory installed option. If your purchase was for a used 911, then I would say buy it and add the lowering springs. When buying new---get exactly what you want. The car drives very well even on poor SoCal freeways.

Many unsold 911's (even hard to find GTS') sit because they do not have Sport PASM.

OP: the car will be fine. I disagree with CDH911C2S; I don't think it will hurt you at resale, the ride quality is worse with the lower springs and the car looks fine with the standard "stance".

Really, you guys, you get so worked-up over these trivial options. It's just a car.

I couldnt imagine having my GTS any lower than it already is around here in the northeast. One snow fall and the roads are atrocious.

Hard to comment in the abstract without knowing how the car is otherwise configured. There are lots of ways to screw-up a Porsche order.

Hey, don't worry, it's irrelevant. There will no impact on resale.

Besides, the new 991.2 sits 10mm lower than the 991.1. And IMHO, anyone who goes for SPASM in the 991.2 should also order front axle lift just to be safe.

The .2 does not sit lower than the .1 S model. They both have PASM standard.

SPASM is still optional.

Only the base model model now comes with PASM standard which it didn't before on the .1

By the way, non SPASM cars are more common than ones with the option.

OH NO!! Say it ain't so!! Well at this point you pretty much have a car that is unfit to be driven and clearly the only solution is to put it and you out of your misery by paying someone to take it away (i.e. me). Shame on you for ruining an otherwise good car and it's going to be a real burden on me to figure out what to do with it.

Haha.

In all honesty, if this is the major worry you have right now, sit back, have a cold one, and be thankful you have an amazing car coming your way to be driven for many year in health and happiness. I am 100% certain once you have the car you will enjoy it and not even think about this.
