Your dealer's tire pressure settings jibe with those set when my car was delivered.

Interesting.

The 911 manual specifies different tire pressures. I wonder what explains the disparity?

My cars door sill indicates 36 front 45 rear. I wonder if those pressures are high to protect the rims from being damage over bumps as the profiles of the tires are quite small.

I thought the full load pressures in the manual are around 38/46, which is what I think the dealer just puts in them for liability reasons any time they service a car. It's immediately obvious when I drive the car and I just adjust them back to where I want them. No big deal, but I think it's a bit comical.

At this point all I am hearing is a bunch of men arguing for the sake of arguing.

I disagree with that argumentative statement.

I thought this thread would have died a week ago.

I suspect it's still going for the same reason you brought it up in the first place - people on this forum care a lot about this particular option. FWIW, I'm a PASM owner who wishes I had SPASM. I think about it literally every time I drive the car. That said, I can't remember a drive I didn't enjoy.

Although I'd like to dispute that, the way I use the PASM button would severely weaken my case.

According to the manual for the 2015 Carrera downloaded in the "Good To Know" Porsche application, the standard cold tire pressure for 911S with 20" tires, Full Load, is 36 front/44 rear. This corresponds with the tire pressure when my 2015 CPO 911s was delivered.

The Comfort pressure for the same configuration is 31 front/ 40 rear.

I'm going to reduce the tire air pressure to the Comfort settings and see how the ride is affected with SPASM.

unless you are carrying heavy frunk luggage , 4 people and running > 165 mph , consider the even lower " comfort , PART LOAD "pressures , which I have read is what the factory test drivers and chassis engineers together determine is the " best " canyon/ track f/r PSI setting for its oem spec tire(s)

the 36/45 psi are legal " CYA " mandated by Porsche and oem tire company for full load / sustained > 165 mph Autobahn running

( most tracked 991s run with low 30s f/r cold ..any higher and oem street tires start to get greasy if they get close to high 30s hot )

Well this may help my ride issue too...been running 34/36 cold which mean I see 38/40 warm if the TPMS readings are to be believed.

Gonna drop em some more.

That's good info. Thanks.
