Does it mount to the seat frame so that it moves back and forth with the seat or must the seat be far back enough to clear it?

It mounts to the seat mounting rails so it does not move back and forth with seat movement. However, you can easily adjust the center portion of the mount fore and aft, thus allowing adequate clearance for seat movement. Notice the red lever in my pic...it allows loosening of the center portion, to which the extinguisher is mounted. That piece can easily be adjusted or removed, with the extinguisher attached. It's a nice design. Its a bit much for my dinky little Element, but nice to have the extinguisher readily at hand, should it ever be needed.

Bought these: https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/PK9X1MIRROR.html a few weeks back, but finally got around to installing them today. First pic is the finished install. The second is what it looks like with the OEM cover plate removed. If you have a later model, the install takes all of 10 mins. per side. If you have one of the earlier models, the door panels have to come off and I personally would pass on the install.

what model year/built date is yours?
I have 2018 GTS and I bought them a couple of months ago and didn't install them yet.
If my 911 is newer style, I will prob. install but jus like you I'll skip if I have to take the whole door panel off.

I have a 2018 Carrera T. So, you should have the easier install, but to be sure just pop off the interior triangle

Correct - earlier means the 2012 or 2013 models from what I recall.

I had heard about the 'buffeting!' (in James May voice) issue on the 991s, but thankfully doesn't seem to affect my car at all, so far anyway.

It is not a problem on just some cars as It affects all cars due to the design; however, if you never put your windows all the way down you will never experience it.

Unfortunately my 2014 model requires the door panel to come off so I'm hesitant to install these.

Basically, if one has a visible screw on the triangle the door panel does not need to come off.

Default Detail Shop

Finally ordered my PF22.2 and a few other key supplies I have been wanting. Have quite a bit of Gyeon products now..tar removal, leather cleaner, tire cleaner, tire dressing etc. Also picked up the Hyde’s Serum which seems to be well liked. All of this arsenal along with my master blaster will bring me much joy (its my gardening I think LOL) this summer trying to keep my black car spotless.

I wanted to complete my interior so I purchased a 991.2 suede heated multi- function steering wheel.

BMC air filters.

Have to ask -- is this pic taken down at the Jersey Shore?

I did the AWE Tuning Foilers/Diffusers. I have the early version of the 991 where the door panels had to come off. Was intimidated at first but it's very straightforward. Didn't want to do the Blackmills as I didn't like the stuck on look. The AWE's took a little contouring to make them fit the outer trim to a good standard. Happy I did it.

While I was in there I replaced both door stops with the updated non-creaky version. Got tired of lubing them and having my car sound like it was farting. Figured as long as I had the door panel off, why not. Also very straightforward. No more creaks and it feels more solid.

Can you supply the part # for those ? The non creaky door stops ? I had no idea that was available and we definitely have nothing but time for those projects !!! Thanks !
