I didn’t actually buy anything today. I had this thread lying around for tying oboe reeds and decided to replace the strip of yellow electrical tape I’d previously used with something a bit more in keeping with the rest of the interior.

New top!!
Yup — a new top. 2017 cabrio. The top was damaged by a detailer. Tons of scratches and deep abrasions - of course he denied it!
It drove me nuts seeing a pristine Xpel’d and Ceramic coated paint with a crummy top.
Finally pulled the trigger—despite the cost. New factory top installed by a local upholstry and convertible top specialist. King’s Auto Upholstry — for anyone in Southwest Virginia.
Local P dealer and it’s sub hadn’t ever replaced a 2017 top — nor did this guy. I rolled the dice and couldn’t be happier. Looking brand new again. Major sigh of relief!

Well I went down the rabbit hole and ordered some Exclusive Option espresso leather bits. I didn't get the extended dashboard this time, but later decided I wanted the dash end caps so I ordered some custom ones - there was a mixup and I got leather door handle inserts instead! I liked them so I bought them rather than send them back. They did also quickly make the dash end caps I ordered.

No more abrasions. Looks pristine.
Check out my initial thread read to see the damaged photos.

Just the outer fabric was replaced.
Inner roof liner and mechanics of the roof unchanged.
Cost listed above.
Detail guy was an acquaintance at work who did stuff on the side. I didn’t go after him. My own Insurance plan covered 3k.
