Meet the new, lower priced AWE Tuning Foiler™ Wind Diffuser for 981/991s
#31
Josh why did AWE release a newer version with a more complicated installation guide when there was a previous version made of aluminum that installs using a 3M double sided tape in 1 minute?
Was there any incident of that diffuser flying off at high speed?

I believe you are confused. The Foiler™ has always been a bolt-on product, and both the installation process and the instruction guides have only been simplified.

So ordered mine last week after checking the drivers side door and verifying I had the screw. Install took 5 mins.
I go over to the passenger side - DAMN!!! No screw! Anyone else experience this? Didn't have time that day to finish the longer install.

This is interesting, I only looked at the passenger side on my 2014 C4S and did not find the screw so I decided against ordering. Makes we want to look now at the drivers side.

No trim tool necessary, just lightly squeeze the trim cover and jiggle it a bit and it pops off. Whole thing took less than 10 minutes and I wasn't rushing. works great. But shouldn't the car come this way from Porsche?

You are thinking of a competitors product. Those ugly Blackmill Bat Wings.
The AWE's keep getting better and better. Nice job.

I installed these today. I was a bit a reticent about starting the installation because I would have to remove both door panels, and what I read here and the instructions made it sound a bit involved.
I'm happy to report that I installed both sides today and the whole installation took only about 25 minutes. Fifteen minutes for the first door and 10 minutes for the second. Very easy and does not require the door panel to be removed. I also did not disconnect the airbags, but I did disconnect the battery power. For the screw that holds the triangular window part being replaced, I just used a T20 Torx bit on my 1/4 inch ratchet and the install can be done without door removal. It's very easy.
They look great / factory and I am happy.

Easy install...looks great...works great
I'm usual hesitant to take on "simple" installs, but this took 30 mins....looks great, just like oem, works as promised...
A couple hints
- getting the interior cover off is simple as described...don't have to takes whole thing out( j hook has enough play) to see if you have the screw..my 2014 did
- there are two sets of adapters in the package...I used the one shown in install instructions and it was the wrong one for a 991.1... Use the straight one. And eyeball the screw hole lines up with the door before attaching adapter
20 mins getting the first door right...5 mins on second

Glad you got it done easily, MD!
For the record, the curved bracket is indeed the correct piece, though you are lucky the straight one worked.
Enjoy driving!

I installed mine yesterday, and it took me maybe 25 minutes for both sides, with the lack of light in our indoor condo parking garage being the biggest problem.
They look great and work as expected. No more wind buffeting when rolling down one window.
Mine is a 2015 C2S, and it has the screws. Some friends told me the early 991's have no screws, requiring the doors to be disassembled. Is that the way y'all see it?
