Purchased for my '16 Macan, had a large screw puncture in the first month of ownership. Took one month to replace tire (dealer) no tires in stock. Paid $1500, found out that it was not transferable to new 911. Should ask about transfer-ability. imho

For me in central NJ, it is worth it. Has paid for itself in 12 months.
Also consider that porsche dealership service area will not patch the tires. You get a puncture, its a whole new tire.
Edit: I did not make that hyperlink to Walmart. Go to hell walmart.

My Cayenne is actually at the dealership right now getting the rear tire switched out after getting a nail in it. This is my second tire "insurance" claim in one year of ownership.
To be honest, I'm very happy with the tire plan at the moment![jumper](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/jumper.gif)
Like others have said, just have to roll the dice on this one.

I am a NY'r but have worked in NJ my entire career. Wish I had more hair. A deer hit me last year a month after someone plowed into me on Rte 80 when I was stopped. Not a good year for my car, it was only a X3 so not so bad. When they call up the car fax on that car they will run out of paper.

the equation is not in your favor, especially at that price. If you drive a car of this caliber, you should be in a position to self insure. Punctures happen... it is part of the cost of driving.

My wheel/tire does not cover rash but does cover about anything else out to get my car on the road.

I agree. All of the protection things they try to sell you with the vehicle are basically scams. Skip them all and keep the cash you saved in case you do have an issue. They track their average payout on these things and adjust them if the plan is turning out to be a good deal, hence why Doug DeMuro's $2k CarMax Land Rover protection plan would cost $10k now.

I was offered this package for 1900. My Worse case scenario would be 1400 for the wheel and 400 for a tire. Beyond that, I would consider myself unlucky and deal with the situation. Now, I drive with my eyes wide open.

Also, If you drive or live around a construction zone, like a new community with new houses built, be ready for those roof nails. They somehow strike with vengeance right on the corner wall. I had bad experiences replacing tires in Iowa both on my X5 and GL450.

How long does the $2500 coverage last for? 4 years? You know you could simply expand your existing car insurance to cover it right? I'm gussing it'll cost you in the ballpark of $10 a month... $480 total. Plus that's not counting the time value of money... assuming a 3% annual discount rate with semi-annual insurance premiums, paying the $480 will only cost you $345 in the equivalent of today's money.
