First Impression 991-2 Cab S
Just picked this up as a loaner for a day or two. I currently have a 991 GTS.
I've only driven it for 45 minutes so far, but have to say I like the power delivery of this new engine. At moderate speed there is a real feeling of substance behind the acceleration. As for the sound track, as others have said, it's certainly different, but it didn't spoil the experience.
Naturally, you can't really tell much from such a short drive, but you only get a first impression once and mine was certainly positive.

Sport chrono, Bose, park assist, with camera, I think the standard multi function wheel with heating. Heated seats. I included a few iPhone pics, sorry they're not great.

it obviously had PSE also.....and the exhaust sound still was uninspiring?
Also...what is the middle button on the sunroof do? This is also new on the 718. One touch all windows down? We thought it might be the rear screen down control button on a 718.

The middle button activates a rear mesh wind deflector. Not having driven a cab before I'm not sure if that was on the gen. 1. If it wasn't, I can take a picture, if anyone's interested.
The sound, whilst different, isn't at all bad, but of course each person will have their own view on that. I need to push it a bit to see how it performs at higher revs though.
In answer to the question, I wouldn't change my GTS for this model, but that's probably more to do with losing the details, clw, GTS interior, etc.
I need to drive it some more to get a better sense of what this engine can do.

Great loaner car.
The few times I've had loaners they have all been SUV's

Edit: and adaptive cruise judging by the cruise control stalk, as well as LED lights.

Yes I know. It's obvious (and I know this is a 991 forum). However, the identical button was added onto the 718 during the refresh and some of us over at planet-9 didn't know what the new feature was. Now we do thanks to the correlation with the 991.2 CAB. Thanks.
