A bit of heresy on the 991 forum, but this would be my top choice at the moment:

It ticks every box for what I want in a sports car (and guards red would be the icing on the cake)

Is that a rendering or is that car modded? The GT4 (which is lovely btw) does not have the GT3 centerlocks and the wing looks off... here is one in the flesh.

Well, this is embarrassing. I just grabbed a google photo for a guards red GT4 and that pic does indeed look to be, um, "altered".
I'd prefer the 5 lug wheels anyway

Your photo certainly fits the bill nicely

Sorry, not a great picture, but a Carrera Speedster. Ask me tomorrow and it'll probably be a different answer. But I would love to some day scratch the open 356 itch. Honorable mention goes to an 356 Carrera 2 Cabriolet.

The common trend among the answers is manual transmission. For good reason driver involvement trumps being the fastest.

Mine would be 997.1RS

LOL, well to be fair, the vast majority of cars in this poll were either only offered in manual (most of them), or offered in Sportomatic or Tiptronic flavors, one of which is an actual torque-converter slushie and the other a weird pneumatically operated manualish thing that was sort of the worst of all worlds. If that were the only way a 991 could be had I'd not have bought a 911, period. And yet I chose PDK for this last one and don't regret it one bit. Because I never use it in automatic mode. Ever.

I am buying another Porsche - I'm adding a 997.2 C4S or C2S PDK to compliment my 997S 6 speed (it will be the wife's weekend car - and my occasional track toy) - search has started - target purchase time will be in the next 18 months. The 997 is the modern 993 - will always own one.

Ahh **** thought I was in the 997 section...I like 991's too - just a bit big for me.

Drive the new Shelby GT350 (if you can find one), thank me later.
