OTM Intro Post
Hello Everyone and Happy New Year.
I woke up this morning and my wife wished me a happy anniversary. It took me a second to realize she was referring to the 1 year anniversary of getting my first 911. It was nice of her to remember!
After a couple years of serious lurking, I figured I should register and contribute. I purchased a 2014 C2 coupe with the options I was searching for...7 MT and glass roof in GT Silver and it's been an amazing year. The car also has Bose, Premium Package w/14 way, CD changer, vent seats and along the way I added PSE at local dealer. That was also done with much research on this forum as well.
I daily drive the car to work during the week. I drive around the little ones in boosters over the weekend and put on about 7,000 miles during the past year. Chicago snow storms puts it in the garage for a day or two but that's about all I can stand.
I have wanted a 911 for 30 years and feel lucky every time I start the engine. Every few months I get a touch of "S" Envy but I know that I have the 911 that is right for me and it's perfect. Back in November, I went to Atlanta and did the Master the Manual experience as well as the Carrera S experience. Driving the PDK S at the Porsche Experience Center was amazing but I left knowing that my 7 MT base was perfect for me.
I want to thank everyone that contributes for all the great info and entertainment and I hope I will some day contribute info that will help other first time buyers and owners. We are all so lucky to be driving these amazing vehicles and I look forward to a 911-filled 2016! I'll try to post photos but I'm not promising that it will work!

Welcome and thanks for finally posting! Glad to hear you're enjoying your 911. Obviously you're in good company with the GT Silver club
Sometimes I wonder how many lurkers there are, but seeing the views on threads, I know a lot more than guys who post. Would be nice to hear from more. Once I started posting, I haven't been able to shut up. At least the Chicago winter has been mild so far this winter. Makes for good driving.

Wow, C2 in chicago winters, nice! Great to hear you're enjoying the car. I got a 7MT too and am almost coming up on my one month anniversary. Have been smiling continuously for the last 25 days.

STG I forgot to add a huge thank you in my initial post for all your work on the Hot For Sale thread. While it was started a little late for me to use for my purchase, I still read it every couple days.

OTM, nice 911. Welcome to Rennlist.
Make sure you join the PCA and local Chicago Region. We have a great group. Many great events. DE, Autocross, Concours, Ralley, Social. Heck, if the only event you and your family attend is the WeatherTech car show and lunch, you'll consider it money well spent.
Happy 2016.
