Nice! Never thought a powder blue car could look so tough and mean. The black wheels make a huge difference.

-1 for the black wheels. But respect the fact that you like them.

Beautiful car - enjoy!

This turned up in the post this morning, I am getting it fitted on Tuesday.
All the way from the USA. AWE Switch path exhaust.

Check this noise out, and it sounds even better in real life..

The weather has been terrible here in the UK since collecting the car. But I have put about 350 miles on it now.

I had the AWE switchpath added today and the new BMC air filters too. Woah...Sounds incredible and I am still only taking it to about 5,000 revs.

I will report and take pictures tomorrow if the weather gets better.

This is a Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest removal of a 991 rear bumper from delivery to occupation!

With the car only having 200miles on the clock when the AWE exhaust and BMC air filters were fitted I could not really give a true impression of the newly fitted parts. But now with the car showing about 600 miles and pretty much revving to 7000 rpm I can give a better idea of the modifications.

The new AWE switch path gives the car an even more raspy, throaty soundtrack, with burbles galore. It can be driven as quietly as a standard GTS, no problem. The sound only picks up around 2800rpm and then is still muted slightly, just like the standard GTS with the Sports exhaust turned off. BUT its a whole different story when you switch to Sport. First time it was started up inside the workshop it frightened me. It sounds loud, but with a totally different Porsche tone, and the sound should develop with the more heat cycles it goes through.

So can I hear a difference with the BMC air filters? With the exhaust turned off I think that the answer is yes. There is more of an induction howl, again rising around the 3250 rpm range. I'm not sure how much induction sound you can hear in the higher rev range or what there is to hear as the induction sound is drowned out by the exhaust sound. The standard GTS exhaust will drown it out or mask it in just the same way.
Does the car feel different or faster? Its hard to say I'm stepping up from. a C2s so GTS which has extra hp anyway, but I must say, "it 'does' seems to be the fastest 991 GTS I have ever driven"....and I have driven quite a few.

Back to today.... I went to http://www.topazlondon.com/ to get paint correction and enhancement and then a full wrap. This place has an amazing clientele and has a reputation of being one of the top detailers (and most expensive) in the country. The car will be wrapped with Suntek and XPEL self healing films. One is very slightly thicker than the other and also not quite as 'flat'. The two films are used on different parts of the car, the thicker Suntek on high risk areas and the XPEL on the rest of the car.

La Ferrari, Pagini undercover, P1 GTR road car, RR... I will take more pictures when I return to collect my car.
