My wife's 750i has a HUD, the 1st thing I do when I drive it is turn the damn thing off ... I find it really distracting ... I'm not typically not trying to obtain
missile lock on a Fencer ... so I dont ever want to "have" a HUD on a 911

Couldn't agree more. I drove a friend's vette a few years ago, and the first thing I asked him was how in the hell do you disable HUD. It was always in my field of vision and therefore a distraction. I rarely look at gauges when I drive, but when I do I don't mind lowering my field of vision about six inches for a second or two.
