Default Paint correction is worth every penny

So, a couple weekends ago, I went to F1 and the weather was downright atrocious. Tropical storm all weekend resulted in some pretty funny situations. People who imported cars internationally for the weekend were driving about in weather they would normally NEVER drive their exotics in. I'm talking McLaren 675w, Pangani's and Aventadors in gale force level wind and rain. My weakling 991 included/ On top of that, my car traveled from Houston-Austin-Houston that weekend. Suffice it to say bro, that my car was trashed.
I had been already planned to have the and 3M clear bra that came with the car installed removed and replaced with Xpel and paint correction anyways. After the abuse I put the car through over the F1 weekend, I thought she deserved a full spa treatment. I've always read about these high end paint correction services and often wondered what the hype was all about. In short, it was worth every penny!

I went ahead and dropped her off last tuesday for a full paint correction, 7 Coats of Ceramig Pro 9H, and Xpel front 1/2 wrap. The entire car was coated in Ceramic Pro 9H, wheels in Ceramic Pro Strong, and glass in Ceramic Pro Rain after a full paint correction. Xpel was then applied to full front 1/2 of the car with more layers of Ceramic Pro on top.

The result, is AMAZING! The car looks substantially better than factory fresh, and I cannot even explain how great it looks. Think SEMA quality detailing and you start to get an idea.

No doubt, the entire treatment wasn't cheap at over $2,000, but it comes with a lifetime guarantee against swirl marks, and I cant wait to see how she looks in a years time. I only wish I had more "Before" Pics!

I concur with the value of full paint correction, protective coating (Ceramic Pro or Opticoat, etc), and Xpel.

I had all the above done to my 911s Black on Black car.

Came out looking better than new and well worth the cost.

They key is to find a detailer with deep experience on all the above for high end vehicles.

Its amusing to spend two grand because a car got rained on.
Looks nice, though.

I was thinking about paint correction on my black c2s, curious about cost. I was thinking $1000-1200, am I in the ballpark?

I'd give my wife a spa treatment but my car? No way Jose. My car is like my half-pretty outside girl that I ride hard and give a good wash and rubdown when necessary. That said, I get that some folks need to have their prized Porsche looking nice...and yours certainly does.

It all depends on how bad the paint is and how long the detailer has to work to get the spots out. I think a decent range is $800-2,500 depending on what needs doing. My RS5 paint was perfect and didn't need much of anything before OptiCoat Pro, but my 991 was awful and cost me over $2k to get right. But man is it money well spent. The car looks fantastic and stays that way.

And I'd argue that it's more important to do the coating on a DD than a garage queen. The car that's gonna be left outside, driven in all weather, etc., is the one that needs the protection the most.

Looks nice in the pics but I can't seem to get over the $2k spent. Your money so go for it.
I am in the minority here but would just as soon take it to the car wash when needed, drive the crap out of it and repeat ad infinitum.

I had mine done and spent more than that. Paint correction, quartz coating and full front paint protection using Suntek (was XPEL but didn't like it). The difference is really night and day. Will I do it again for the price? 50/50 for now. The paint protection is definitely YES.

Money well spent???

But is it worth every penny and does it give you the most bang for the buck??? That's the million dollar question!

What exactly is the difference between a full paint correction and say a polish and wax. Just trying to educate myself on the extra steps and materials used. Thanks!
