I did not. But I placed my order back in September, so I guess they crossed me off their list...

Got it. Scratched my head. Added the package to my (extensive) collection.
No wonder these cars are so expensive.

I got it. Maybe a little heavy on hype re exhaust sound of the new engine:

"What remain unchanged are the high-revving engine characteristics you'd expect of a sports car - the unmistakably throaty sound of the 911 - more so than ever due to the all-new optional sport exhaust system...."

So apparently there is some concern about customer reaction to the FI vs NA sound. Must admit I'm looking forward to comparing.

After reading today's review of some actual test drives, I feel like throwing my little PCNA advertisement into the trash. How disappointing to hear the results of some of the recent test drives. This reminds me of the 996 time period. I am pissed.

Which reviews? Most I have read/seen have been positive.

I haven't read a single negative review about the .2. But I still prefer my .1 & will not be "upgrading to a .2

These guys are referencing the .2 first hand drives and impressions thread. Many actual unbiased enthusiast reviews should give a more realistic view than the "Swooning Canary Island automotive journalists".

If I am still around with a 911.2 in a few years, will no doubt read with amusement the complaints about how the new 911 hybrid lacks the soul of the good old 911.2 turbo Everyone has their reasons for buying and loving a 911. For some the NA motor is that reason. For others not so much. What I liked about my 911 C4 test drive was the overall handling. The engine sounded nice but felt weak to me. The exhaust note was nice but what made me order a 911 was the handling. Reading about the increased torque and hp of the 911.2 was also a selling point for me. For me personally, the 911.2 will be a helluva car, but I am not sure any car can deliver the same visceral involvement as hustling a sport bike around a race track with knee dragging on the edge of traction......where making a mistake is probably going to hurt.......and yes it does hurt But I will check back after a year of 911.2 ownership and let you know how I feel about the car. Amazing how much I can talk about a 911 after one test drive of 30 minutes:roll eyes: The reality is that I know nothing
