I know this already has been discussed and it's not how it's been done for other .2 models here in the past. However I believe an exception should be made for the 991.2 considering the dramatic change with the new turbocharged engines. They are totally different cars.

Current .1 owners find it annoying that new threads about the .2 pollute their feed and that's understandable.

Future .2 owners frantically keep looking for ".2" in titles and post everything .2-related in 2-3 threads that are getting harder and harder to follow.

This will just get worse over time. Bonus: reducing the amount of NA vs. turbo exchanges that are going nowhere.

I just don't see any benefits in keeping the .1 and .2 discussions together. .2 owners could peak in .1 threads and vise versa.

I am pretty sure this is going to get dismissed by the mods but I am giving it a try

I agree the change between them is profound enough that it would do both 991.1 and 991.2 owners/fans/enthusiasts a great service. This board is probably the most active on Rennlist, and the traffic between the two (.1/.2) is getting insane, confusing, and frustrating. Two different camps in my opinion.

I brought this up in a thread a while back, based on my view that the powertrains are so different that a lot of the issues relevant to one will not be of interest to the other, and I basically got run out of the thread and told the motors were basically identical by certain folks...

Yes, I think it makes sense to split the forums, but I doubt RL will do it.

Why would anyone vote no? These are literally two different cars. Barely anything will be interchangeable.

It's like saying that the current 991.1 twin turbo needs its own forum because it has a different engine.

991.2 has whole NEW 3 litre motor. Not proven yet. Could turn out to be a crapper. Give it it's own section

Strongly believe that 991.2 should have a separate forum. It's like grouping 993 and 996 otherwise. The engine differences are just that great. I'd also be open to two different sub forums if the mods insist.

FWIW I'm in favor of the change, it's not a decision I'm able to make.

However, I did open up a dialog with the other moderators which includes those at IB who can make a decision on this.

So, sit tight. Just wanted everyone to know the request isn't falling on deaf ears.
