Default 911 GTS coup with SPASM: front lip clearance?

My Targa GTS barely makes it into the garage without scraping its front lip. I measured the clearance at the very front and it's about 6.5 inches.

Could someone with a 911 GTS coupe and SPASM mind letting me know what their clearance is?

Thanks!

Ouch! That's lower than I'd thought. I don't think it would make any difference - I'd assume Porsche would make the ride height the same for both - but can you tell me if your coupe is PDK or manual?

Mine is 7 speed and it's the same 5 1/2. The transmission is irrelevant. Pasm -s has a 10mm lower spring height than pasm. How that equates to an inch difference is beyond me. You may want to check your measurement once more. It's probably 6 inch.

Is this the same measurement for a C2S with the Sport Design kit?

Yes indeed, particularly true when you have the Aerokit front lip. Scrapped it today pulling out of an steeply angled driveway... probably the 4th or 5th really good scrap situation since I've had my car. Figure I'll get through another winter first and then consider replacing the Aerokit lip in the spring.

That's interesting. We have the same phenomenon in NorCal. Maybe it's a westsiiiide thing. =)
I've noticed I have to be very careful with the car in general. Always driving at angles for driveways and large speed humps and even potential high-center situations on steep downhill San Francisco driveways.

Good thing I live in a SPASM friendly city.

SF seems like a nightmare. Larry has even had issues with his non SPASM (PASM only) GTS cab. Larry, where are those lowering springs??

Well, the upside to SF and the East Bay is that we've got a lot of really good driving roads close by. Probably worth scraping a few lips on!

Oddly, this whole thread makes me think there won't be a whole lot of difference between the two cars I'm considering wrt. scraping (a GT4 and SPASM 911 coupe). Both are going to be even more of a hassle than my current Targa GTS with PASM. Price you pay, I guess.

I scrape my stock SPASM front lip daily here in Los Angeles even though I take ramps at the most extreme angle that I can manage. On the bright side, the scraping is just limited to the front lip and Suncoast does sell a replacement part.
