I live in central PA and purchased my 991 and Macan from a dealer 5 hours away in NY because a relative works there. I have both these and my wife's 997.2 (purchased used from a non-Porsche dealer in Utah) serviced at Sun Motor Cars, which is the closest dealer to my home, about 90 miles away. Not only do I always get a loaner (usually an Audi), but they pick up and drop off all of my cars, even though I didn't purchase any of them from Sun and the 997 is no longer under warranty. I couldn't be happier with this arrangement.

Always Porsche loaners. Boxsters, Caymans, Panamera once, Cayennes. The last time I needed one they were out of them so they pulled a brand new Cayenne Diesel with 11 miles on it off the back lot and gave it to me.

Carlsen Porsche in Redwood City, CA. One visit to service so far and got a Cayenne with 5000 miles on it.

We'll see if that rings true for me tomorrow. I'm dropping mine off at Leith in the morning for a fault cooling system error.

After reading this thread it may help explain why some pay more for scheduled service than others. The standard courtesy car for any Porsche service should be another Porsche or another high end car such as a BMW 5 series or Audi A6. Any courtesy car below that standard is not acceptable.

Same here. At the Porsche dealer I get a dang Hyundai as a rental. Just bought an Audi A7 this weekend to add to the stable and they have 125 Audi loaners available.

Seems as if Porsche dealers vary significantly on their loaner policy.

In the Bay Area, Sonnen Porsche gave me a Boxter while warranty work was done on my 991. It took a few days to get the part for the engine mount that failed.

When I've taken the 911 in the service the adviser usually asks if I need a loaner or waiting. If I need a loaner they schedule my service when a loaner is available.

So far aways a fairly new Cayenne or Macan

Porsche Tysons Corner gives my neighbor (although she bought her 911 from them) Cayenne loaners, and I've only gotten a C300 with fresh spit on the center console, and trash in the passenger footwell. In fairness, they did just get the car back a few minutes earlier and I was in a hurry to leave before they could clean it.

True dat. Loved the experience with service at Sonnen, but when they did my X73, I got the pleasure of renting one of the worst cars I've ever driven in my entire life, a base Chrysler 200. Scary bad car. I dreaded the long drive back to the dealership to return that POS.
