Build is http://www.porsche-code.com/PH1B4N81 - locks in 3-4 weeks as far as I know, so time to make a few changes
Just curious: why splurge then on adaptive cruise?
I have got down to 3-4 configs (colors etc). Still can't quite decide on CS vs Targa 4.

Purchasing my very first Porsche ever: http://www.porsche-code.com/PHNCFX11 Build is supposed to be February with a March delivery. Plan to use this as a daily driver. Vivek
PS are you sure of that timeline?...sounds aggressive...

I hope the timeline is right, I'm in the first slot for the C4S from my dealer (after their display models). So it is a early/mid Feb build with a likely late March delivery, but I'm hoping I get more firm information once everything locks in. I did my best to give them all my picks as quickly as I could and now will try to avoid the configurator.

My understanding is that dealers in the US are not allowed to release customer cars until after the official launch date of March 23. So cars produced in December and January would be held until that time.... That's my understanding, if you guys have heard differently, I would love to hear...

People are getting discounts in line with current (or recent) 991 production orders. My impression is that dealers are holding the first production spots for those customers that are willing to pay more and giving spots in the later production months to those that got discounts, i.e. the greater the discount, the longer you will wait..... that is only my impression, though.... I would love it if folks could provide concrete evidence in favor or against this impression...

Have not heard anything about production dates yet. Dealer told me I should get the car in March. I got a few percent discount and honestly I did not bargain that hard. I could have gotten better with a more distant dealer but decided to stick close to home.

I was told US dealers are not allowed to deliver customer cars before the official launch date of March 23 (this is for the US only, as far as I know).... so, if you are in the US, you may get yours right after that...

After ordering my 4S, I got an invitation in the mail to attend a VIP launch event on Dec 10th. The invite contained a url to a private Porsche website which you access via a personal password.
I also received quite a nice box filled with pull out cards with pictures on the 991.2 on one side and text on the other. Basically the same info as on the Porsche website but still a nice presentation format.
Oh…and I have a test drive booked for 14th December. Will let you know what it's like.

I have not received a firm date, was just told February build and likely end of March delivery. I am hoping a receive a cool picture kit once things move along here in the US.
