2017 GTS

2017 GTS
Is Porsche going with the turbo motor in this also - I heard the Carrera S variant or will this be NA like the GT cars?
I asked a rep at Rennsport and he said...nothing.

also note that a 'facelift' GTS model is highly unlikely to be a 2017 model, the GTS (historically) is the last model variant (with the exception of special editions) to be released about 18 months before the new model is released.
This was certainly the case with the 997 GTS and 991.1 GTS models.

anyway, the only N.A 911 engine likely to be built in future is that for the GT3 and GT4 ... and for how long?

+1 it will be interesting to see what (if anything) happens to the 991.2 TT & TTS motors in light of the 9A2 ... will they change anything or simply dial up the boost?

pretty sure any .2 GTS wont be N.A, given the GTS has always been a parts bin special, I see no reason for that to change, which means it will be a .2 S engine
with whatever powerkit they come up with.

I was just going off this quote of the new GTS is going to be turbo charged Larry.
"This is where the biggest changes will be, as the 2017 Carrera GTS will be the first from its lineage to feature a turbocharged engine. In theory, it should sport a slightly more powerful version of the turbocharged, 3.0-liter flat-six used by the 2016 911 Carrera facelift (991.2). Around 450 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque are expected, sent to the rear wheels via either a seven-speed manual or a seven-speed, PDK"!
I may have misunderstood his original question. But I thought he was wanting to know if Porsche was going with the turbo in this also.
Thanks

Is there a powerkit available for the 991.2 C2S? I don't see one in the website ... this will probably determine what the GTS gets. However like most have said, I don't think it makes financial sense for them to keep the NA motor for just the GTS.
The interesting question is what motor will they use for the next GT4? I think it will have to be a detuned GT3, again don't see them keeping the 9A1 alive just for that model.

Yes there is a powerkit I read it somewhere and it's going to be 450HP!! Not sure why Porsche is stuck on 30HP for the powerkits especially with the new turbo motors. I bet the aftermarket tuners will easily make the S model go from 420hp to 500hp gaining 80hp just by turning up the boost and basic tuning but that just my guess.
